Risk of damage from spilt cleaning
and descaling solutions.
Sensitive surfaces and/or natural
floors can suffer damage.
You can place the maintenance
container under the central spout
before switching off to collect the
cleaning and descaling solutions.
Wipe up any spillages of cleaning
and descaling agent.
When handling a descaling cartridge
which has already been filled with
water, ensure that the descaling
solution does not come into contact
with sensitive surfaces.
The coffee machine has automatic
maintenance programmes for cleaning
the milk pipework and the brew unit, as
well as for descaling the machine. This
is why the Miele cleaning cartridge and
descaling cartridge are fitted in the
coffee machine. Automatic cleaning is
always carried out before automatic
descaling if both programmes are due
on the same day (total time:
approx.2.5hours).
You can set the time for daily cleaning
and descaling to start using the
Maintenance timer.
The coffee machine will automatically
determine the days when to carry out
automatic descaling based on the
usage pattern.
With automatic cleaning the milk
pipework is cleaned and/or the brew
unit is degreased. The coffee machine
also determines the concentration of
the cleaning solution and type of
cleaning programme for automatic
cleaning based on the number and type
of drinks prepared.
If you do not make any drinks, the
automatic maintenance programmes
will not start.
Water is mixed with cleaning agent to
form a solution for automatic
maintenance programmes and this is
then pumped through the pipework of
the coffee machine. After a specific
activation phase, the solution is rinsed
out of the pipework and the machine
can then be used as normal for making
drinks.
During automatic cleaning and
descaling you will hear rinsing noises,
for example, at frequent intervals even
though the appliance is switched off.
What to ensure before and
during automatic maintenance
programmes
The coffee machine must be ready to
use and the following conditions must
be met:
– Ready-to-use cleaning and descaling
cartridges are fitted.
– Automatic cleaning is switched on.
– The coffee machine must not be
disconnected from the electricity
supply during automatic maintenance
programmes.
– The drip tray, brew unit and central
spout are fitted.
