WARNING
Read and understand all instructions before using this product.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire,
and / or serious personal injury.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence
of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may
ignite the dust or fumes.
• Do not allow children or untrained individuals to use this unit.
• Don’t expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool
will increase the risk of electric shock.
• Do not handle plug or tool with wet hands.
• Never allow children to operate the equipment. Never allow adults to operate
the equipment without proper instruction.
• Always wear safety glasses with side shields. Everyday glasses have only impact
resistant lenses. They are NOT safety glasses. Following this rule will reduce
the risk of eye injury. Use face mask if operation is dusty.

shoulder level to prevent entanglement in moving parts.

that could get caught in moving parts of the machine or its motor.
• Do not force tool. Use the correct tool for your application. The correct tool will
do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed.
• Do not operate the equipment while barefoot or when wearing sandals or similar
lightweight footwear. Wear protective footwear that will protect your feet and
improve your footing on slippery surfaces.
• Secure long hair so it is above shoulder level to prevent entanglement in any

moving parts.
• Keep firm footing and balance. Do not overreach. Overreaching can result in
loss of balance.
• Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by

• Do not use tool if switch does not turn it on or off. Any tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
• Keep all bystanders, children, and pets at least 50 ft. away.
• Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the cutter blade stopped. When
transporting or storing the hedge trimmer always fit the cutting device cover.
• Do not operate this unit when you are tired, ill, or under the influence of alcohol,
drugs, or medication.

that has been dropped or received a sharp blow. A damaged battery is subject to

Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities
contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some
examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.
Your risk of exposure to these chemicals varies depending on how often you do this type of
work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals, work in a well-ventilated area, and work with
approved safety equipment, such as dust masks that are specially designed to fiter out microscopic
partcles.
CHILD SAFETY
Tragic accidents can occur if the operator is not aware of the presence of children.
• Keep children out of the working area and under the watchful care of a
responsible adult.
• Do not allow children under the age of 14 to operate this hedger. Children
who are 14 years of age and older must read and understand the operating
instructions and safety rules in this manual and must be trained and supervised
by a parent.
• Stay alert, and turn the hedger off if a child or any other person enters the
working area.
• Look behind and down for small children before and while cutting backwards.
• Use extreme care when approaching blind corners, doorways, shrubs, trees,
or other objects that may obscure your view of a child who may run into the
path of the hedger.
ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
• If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced only by the manufacturer
or by an authorized service center to avoid risk.
• Maintain tool with care. Keep fan and blade area clean for best and safest
performance. Follow instructions for proper maintenance. Do not attempt to clear
clogs from tool without first removing the battery pack.
• To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not expose to rain, do not use on wet
surfaces. Store indoors.
• Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently and use them to instruct others
who may use this power tool. If you loan someone this power tool, loan them
these instructions also.

Know Your Product
This LawnMaster cordless hedge trimmer features laser cut blades made of special-grade steel.
When trimming, slowly cut in a back and forth linear shearing motion. NEVER force the tool, let the tool
do the work. The protective tip at the top of the blade prevent unpleasant kickback reactions when
hitting walls, fences, etc. Operators are protected by the hedge trimmers two-hand safety switch and
quick-stop brake function.
The hand protection guards your hands against twigs and branches. Read the sections below to learn
more about each operating function.

Unpack
● Unpack all parts and lay them on a flat, stable surface.
● Remove all packing materials and shipping devices if applicable.
● Make sure the delivery contents are complete and free of any damage. If you find that parts are
missing or show damage do not use the product but contact your dealer. Using an incomplete or
damaged product represents a hazard to people and property.
Set Up
Carefully remove the blade scabbard from the cutting blades (Fig. 1).
ASSEMBLY
If the hedge trimmer blade jams or gets caught on an electrical cord or wires, DO NOT TOUCH THE
BLADE FOR ANY REASON! IT CAN BE ELECTRICALLY LIVE AND CAUSE SERIOUS OR
FATAL INJURY! Release or drop the trimmer in the quickest, safest way. If possible, disconnect
the dbattery from the tool. If that is not possible, call an electrician, electrical contractor, or the power
company for assistance. failure to heed this danger warning will cause serious personal injury and
possible death.
Avoid serious injury: The blades coast after turning off. ALWAyS keep both hands on the hedge
trimmer handles to prevent your hand from touching the blade.
• Make sure the hedge trimmer switch is off when clearing jammed material from blades. To avoid
possible accidental start-ups, remove or disconnect the battery before servicing, cleaning, or
removing material from the hedge trimmer.
• DO NOT operate the hedge trimmer when you are tired or your visibility is limited. Do not use
the trimmer at night or in reduced light.
• Keep the handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
• DO NOT use the hedge trimmer if the handle guard is damaged.

Intended Use
This hedge trimmer CLHT4022K is with rated battery voltage of 40V. This hedge trimmer is charged
with a charger which output is 40V.
The product is intended for trimming hedges, bushes and shrubs. Observe the technical data for
the maximum cutting capacity. Do not cut branches exceeding the stated maximum capacity.
This product is intended for private domestic use only, not for any commercial trade use. It must
not be used for any purposes other than those described.
Starting And Stopping
● Make sure the on/off switch is in its off position.
● Attach the battery pack to the product. Ensure it snaps in place.
● Your product is now ready to be used.
ASSEMBLY
OPERATION
Battery Pack And Charger (NOT INCLUDED)
NOTE: Please consult the instructions for use supplied with battery pack and charger for more details.
Attach / Release
● Align the battery pack (A) to the slots of the battery dock and slide in until it snaps in place (Fig. 2).
● Press the release buttons (both sides) (B) on the battery pack (A) and remove it from the
product (Fig. 3).

OPERATION
Starting With Two Handed On/Off Switch
● Hold the hedge trimmer with the right hand at the rear handle and with the left hand, squeeze
the safety switch found at the front handle.
● Slowly squeeze the on/off switch to power on trimmer (Fig. 4).
● To turn hedge trimmer off simply releace either of the switched and power to unit will stop.
General Operation
● Check the product, its battery pack and charger as well as accessories for damage before each use.
Do not use the product if it is damaged or shows wear.
● Double check that accessories or application tools are properly fixed.
● Always hold the product by its handles. Keep the handles dry to ensure safe support.
● Ensure that the air vents are always unobstructed and clear. Clean them if necessary with a soft
brush. Blocked air vents may lead to overheating and damage the product.
● Switch the product off immediately if you are disturbed while working by other
people entering the working area. Always let the product come to complete
stop before putting it down.
● Do not overwork yourself. Take regular breaks to ensure you can concentrate
on the work and have full control over the product.

WARNING
To avoid injury and to reduce the risk of electrical shock or fire:
• Replace the battery pack or charger immediately if the battery case or charger cord is damaged.
• Always make sure the hedge trimmer switch is OFF before inserting or removing the battery pack.
• Always make sure the battery pack is removed and the switch turned OFF, before inspecting,
adjusting, or maintaining any other part of the hedge trimmer.
• Read, understand, and follow the Battery Charger instructions.

OPERATION
Trimming (See figs. 5-6)
● Cut and remove branches exceeding the cutting capacity of this product using a proper pruner
before operation.
● Move the cutting device lightly through the cutting surface in a sweeping motion following the
shape of the hedge or shrub.
● A slight tilt downwards of the cutting device in the direction of motion is recommended for
optimum cutting performance.
● Do not to rush and do not attempt to cut too much with one stroke of the cutting device.
● First cut both sides from the bottom cutting upwards to the top.
● This will prevent any of the trimmings falling into the path of the area still to be cut (Fig. 5).
● After cutting the sides proceed to the top (Fig. 6).

To avoid personal injury:
• Handle the blade with care.
• Do not place your fingers or hand between the notches in the blade or in any position where they
could get pinched or cut.
• Never service the blade or hedge trimmer unless the battery pack is removed.
• Do not use if the blade assembly is damaged or bent.
Take to a qualified person to straighten, replace, or sharpen.
• Always keep both hands on the hedge trimmer handles to prevent your hand from touching the
blade.
IMPORTANT!
Lubricate the blade before and after each use. Ignoring this step will decrease blade life and hamper
operation. (See the Maintenance Section)

OPERATION
● To store hedge trimmer, remove battery pack from
unit and use the convenient protective tip to hang
your hedge trimmer out of the way until next use
(Fig. 7).
In order to avoid personal injury and the risk of fire and electric shock, remove the battery pack
before adjusting, inspecting, or cleaning the hedge trimmer.
Remove The Battery Pack.
1. Clean the product with a dry cloth. Use a brush for areas that are hard to reach.
2. In particular clean the air vents (5) after every use with a cloth and brush.
3. Remove stubborn dust with high pressure air (max. 3 bar).
Check for any damage and wear. Repair damages in accordance with this instruction manual.
Wear safety gloves when working on the cutting device and close to it! Use appropriate tools to
remove debris e.g. a brush or wooden stick! Never use your bare hands!

CLEANING THE BLADES
● Keep the cutting blades clean and free of debris.
NOTE: Remove battery before performing any maintenance.
● Use a brush or high pressure air (max. 3 bar) to remove debris from the blades.
● With gloves on, clean the product with a dry cloth to remove loose material.
● Apply a small amount of suitable lubricant on the cutting device to retain a good cutting performance.
● Keep the cutting device sharp. Have a worn or damaged cutting device replaced with a new one
of the same type by a qualified specialist.
● Adjustment of the distance between blades is not necessary, as this is predetermined by the
manufacturer.
ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE BATTERY DISPOSAL
WARNING
If the battery pack cracks or breaks, with or without leaks, do not recharge it and do not use. Dis
pose of it and replace with a new battery pack. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR IT!
To avoid injury and risk of fire, explosion, or elecrivc shock, and to avoid damage to the environ ment:
• Cover the battery's terminals with heavy-duty adhesive tape.
• DO NOT attempt to remove or destroy any of the battery pack components.
• DO NOT attempt to open the battery pack.
• If a leak develops, the released electrolytes are corrosive and toxic. DO NOT get the
solution in the eyes or on skin, and do not swallow it.
• DO NOT place these batteries in your regular household trash.
• DO NOT incinerate.
• DO NOT place them where they will become part of any waste landfill or municipal solid
waste stream.
• Take them to a certigied recycling or disposal centre.

Any parts subject to normal wear and tear including but not limited to: the spool of trimmer line,
trimmer head spool cover, mower blade, collection bag, brush cutter blade, pole saw chain and
guide bar;

The unit, if it has not been operated and/or maintained in accordance with the operator's manual;
•
Normal wear and tear;
•
Routine maintenance items such as lubricants, blade sharpening;
•
Normal deterioration of the exterior finish due to use or exposure;
•
Any product where serial number/data label is tampered with or removed;
•
Any product purchased from unauthorized retailers.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights,
which vary from state to state.
