DS1000Z User Guide 6-31
Frequency Counter Measurement
The hardware frequency counter supplied with DS1000Z oscilloscope can make more
precise measurement of the input signal frequency.
Press Measure  Counter to select CH1-CH4 or D0-D15 as the measurement
source. The measurement result is displayed at the upper right corner of the screen
and you can identify the current measurement source according to the color of the
icon and channel number. The following figure is the result of the frequency
measurement of the input signal of CH1.
Select "OFF" to disable the frequency counter measurement function.
Note: When the frequency of the input signal of the measurement source is lower
than 15 Hz, the measurement result is displayed as "<15Hz".
Measurement Setting
1. Source Selection

determine the measurement range; or you can press CursorAB and use to
adjust the positions of cursor A and cursor B at the same time (the horizontal
distance between cursor A and cursor B remains unchanged). During the
adjustment, two cursor lines (denote the current positions of the cursors) are
displayed on the screen and will disappear about 2 s later after you stop
adjusting the cursor position(s).
Note: The adjustable range of the position of cursor A (cursor B) is related to
the current position of cursor B (cursor A) and the position of cursor A must be
lower than that of cursor B. You can press CursorA, CursorB or CursorAB and
then press
to quickly set the position of the corresponding cursor to the
