4.3.1. Track Controls
Track Controls can function in two different modes - Single or Multi track. The mode can be
switched in KeyLab MkII's onboard Global Settings [p.21] or in the Device Settings [p.79] tab
inside MIDI Control Center.
In both modes these buttons work in conjunction with the 8 Select buttons underneath the
faders, although in slightly different ways from each other. Here's how:
In Single track mode the Select buttons select which track the Track Control buttons will
affect:
Solo: soloes the selected track
Mute: silences the selected track
Record: arms the selected track for recording
Read: allows automation data embedded in the selected track to become active
Write: allows automation data to be written to the selected track
In Multi track mode the Track Control buttons now specify the function of the Select buttons.
If you press the Solo button, then the Select buttons will now work as solo commands for
the corresponding tracks in your project. Or if you press the Mute button, then the Select
buttons will work as mute commands. This way you can quickly control multiple tracks in
your project without having to select each one by one.
Solo: changes function of Select buttons to solo the corresponding track(s)
Mute: changes function of Select buttons to silence the corresponding track(s)
Record: changes function of Select buttons to arm the corresponding track(s) for
recording
Read: changes function of Select buttons to allow automation data embedded in
the corresponding track(s) to become active
Write: changes function of Select buttons to allow automation data to be written
to the corresponding track(s)
While in Multi track mode, the LEDs on the Select buttons will display the corresponding
track states, depending on the function selected with the Track Control buttons - blue for
soloed tracks, yellow for muted tracks, red for record-enabled tracks.
: You can use the Channel and Bank Selectors [p.38] to move between channels (tracks) in your
project.
