WARNING: Before performing any maintenance or

Clean your appliance using a soft cloth dampened with
water. Never let any liquid get inside the appliance;
never immerse any part of the appliance into a liquid.

qualified service organizations, always using identical
replacementparts.
For stubborn marks you can use a mild solution of soap
and water to dampen yourcloth. Never use any other
cleansers or any solvents.

the label of your cleaningpad.
Wash care instructions
Machine wash warm 140°F (60°C) - No bleach - No fabric
softener - Air dry only - Allow to dry fully before re-use.

Your BLACK+DECKER appliance has been designed to
operate over a long period of time with a minimum of
maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends
upon proper care and regularcleaning.
4. Remove the cleaning pad 24 and wash it so that it is
ready for next use.
NOTE: Follow the wash care instructions printed on the
cleaning pad.
Hints for Optimum Use
General
CAUTION: Never use the floor cleaning head or the
small countertop mop head without first attaching a
cleaning pad.
1. Always vacuum or sweep the floor or countertop before using
the hand held steam unit.
2. The easiest way to use the appliance is to tilt the unit to a
45º angle and clean slowly, covering a small area at a time.
3. Do not use chemical cleaners with your steam cleaning
system. To remove stubborn stains from vinyl or
linoleum floors and countertops, you can pre-treat
them with a mild detergent and some water before
using the steammop.
Steam Cleaning with the Floor Cleaning Head
CAUTION: It is important to monitor the water level in
the water tank. To refill the water tank and continue to
sanitize/clean, turn the hand held steam unit OFF and
allow to cool before filling with water.
CAUTION: Never leave the floor cleaning head or small
countertop mop head in one spot on any surface for
any period of time. Make sure the hand held steam unit
is turned off when not in use.
NOTE: When first filled or after running dry, it can take up to
45 seconds for steam to be produced.
1. Fit hand held steam unit 3 to the floor extension 7 and
floor cleaning head 8 to the floor extension 7 .
2. Place a cleaning pad 24 on the floor with the loop side
facing up.

4. Connect the hand held steam unit to an outlet.
5. Press the On/Off button 1 so that the "I" is in the
down position.
NOTE: It takes approximately thirty seconds for the boiler
to heat up to operating temperature.
6. Once boiler is at operating temperature, press the required
steam flow button 28 or 29 to start the steam flow.
7. It takes a few seconds for steam to enter the cleaning
pad. The cleaning pad will now glide easily over the
surface to be cleaned.
8. Push and pull the mop head slowly across the surface to
thoroughly steam clean each section.
9. If water tank 5 requires filling, press the steam flow
button 28 or 29 to pause steam flow, return to an
upright position, making sure that the steam cleaning
system is supported and turn OFF.
10. Wait until the hand held steam unit cools down for
approximately five minutes.
11. Unplug the unit from the electrical wall outlet, and refill
the water tank 5 .
After use
1. Wait until the hand held steam unit cools down for
approximately five minutes
2. Unplug the hand held steam unit from the electrical
wall outlet.
3. Empty the water tank 5 .

steam setting button 28 or 29 to start the steam flow.

press the steam flow button 28 or 29 to stop steam
flow, and press the ON/Off switch 1 so that the "O" is in
the down position.
9. Wait until the hand held steam unit cools down for
approximately five minutes.
