CLEANING THE ENGINE AND DECK
Anyfuel oroil spilledonthe machineshouldbe wipedoff promptly.Do
NOTallowdebristo accumulatearoundtheenginecoolingfinsof the
engineoron anyother partof the machine.
IMPORTANT: The useof a pressurewasherto cleanyour tractoris
NOTrecommended.It maycause damageto electricalcomponents,
spindles,pulleys,bearingsor theengine.
Deck Wash System
Yourtractor'sdeck is equippedwitha waterporton its surfaceas part
of its deckwash system.
Usethedeckwashto rinsegrassclippingsfromthe deck'sunderside
andpreventthe buildupof corrosivechemicals.Completethe following
stepsAFTEREACHMOWING:
1. Drivethe tractorto a level,clearspoton your lawn,nearenough
for yourgardenhoseto reach.
Makecertainthe tractor'sdischargechuteis directedAWAYfromyour
house,garage,parkedcars,etc.

5. Turnthewateron.
6. Whilesitting inthe operator'spositiononthe tractor,startthe
engineand placethethrottleleverin the FAST(rabbit)position.
7. Movethe tractor'sPTO(Blade Engage)intothe ON position.
8. Remainin theoperator'spositionwiththe cuttingdeckengaged
for a minimumof twominutes,allowingthe undersideof the
cuttingdeckto thoroughlyrinse.
9. Movethe tractor'sPTO(BladeEngage)intothe OFFposition.
10. Turnthe ignitionkeyto the STOPpositionto turn the tractor's
engineoff.
11. Turnthewateroff and detach thehose couplerfromthe water
portonyour deck'ssurface.
Aftercleaningyourdeck, returnto the operator'spositionandengage
the PTO. Keepthe cuttingdeckrunningfor a minimumof two minutes,
allowingthe undersideof the cuttingdeckto thoroughlydry.
2. Disengagethe PTO(BladeEngage),setthe parkingbrakeand
stoptheengine.
3. Threadthe hosecoupler(packagedwithyourtractor'sOperator's
Manual)ontothe endof yourgarden hose.
4. Attachthe hosecouplerto the waterport onyourdeck'ssurface.
