1. Testand,if necessary,rechargethebatteryafter the riding
mowerhasbeenstoredfor a periodof time.
2. A voltmeterorloadtestershouldread 12.6volts(DC) or higher

RELAYS AND SWITCHES
Thereareseveralsafetyswitchesinthe electricalsystem.Ifa function
of the safetyinterlocksystemdescribedearlieris not functioning
properly,call 1-800-659-5917to havetheelectricalsystemcheckedby
SearsParts& Repair.
USING THE DECK WASH SYSTEM
Whenusingthe deckwashsystem,neverengagethe deckfrom any
positionotherthanthe operator'sseatof the ridingmower.Do not
usean assistantorengagedeck in the presenceof any bystanders.
Pullbackthe lock collarof the nozzleadapterandpushthe
adapterontothedeckwash nozzleat the left end of the mower
deck. Releasethe lockcollarto lockthe adapteron the nozzle.

4. Turnonthe watersupply.

engagethe PTO.Allowto runas needed.Disengagethe PTO
and stopthe engine.

CLEANING THE SPINDLE PULLEYS
Oncea monthremovethe beltcoversto removeany accumulationof
grassclippingsfromaroundthe spindlepulleysandV-belt.Cleanmore
oftenwhenmowingtall, dry grass.

Attachthe nozzleadapterto a standardgardenhoseconnected
to a watersupply.
Movethe ridingmowerto an areawithinreachof the hosewhere
the dispersalof wetgrassclippingsis notobjectionableto you.
Disengagethe PTO,engagethe parkingbrake,andstopthe
engine.
