TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
The blade
does not follow
a straight line:
Teeth are dull. This is
caused by hitting a hard
object such as a nail,
dulling teeth on one side.
The blade tends to cut to
the side with the sharpest
teeth.
Change to a new blade.
Base is out of line or bent.
Have the tool repaired by a qualified
service technician.
Blade is bent. Change to a new blade.
The blade
binds or
smokes from
friction:
Blade is dull. Sharpen or change to a new blade.
Blade is on backwards. Reassemble the blade correctly.
Blade is bent. Change a new blade.
Incorrect blade is being
used.
Use a suitable blade.
Workpiece is not properly
supported.
Clamp the workpiece firmly.
