Otherwise it may be permanently damaged, live parts may be exposed and cause a
dangerous electrical shock.
Connect the appliance to an easily accessible socket to be able to quickly disconnect it
from the power supply if malfunctioning.
NOTE: Disconnect the appliance from the power supply when not in use to save
electricity and to prevent damage when the appliance is not under your supervision.
To disconnect the appliance from the power supply, always grab the power plug directly
and pull it out of the socket horizontally. Do not pull the appliance by the power cord as
doing so may damage the power cord or affect the operation of the device.
Initial use
Before using the device, do an initial run without lling.
1 Insert the drip tray and the grill underlays as described under INSERTING THE
COMPONENTS.
2 Connect the appliance to the circuit. A beep will sound. The display and all
indicators will ash briey.
3 Press the button Start/Stop to turn on the unit.
NOTE: On the control panel, on the right of the MENU button you will see the program
display. Each program has a symbol associated with it. Press the MENU button
repeatedly to navigate through the programs one after the other, starting from the rst
row in the upper left corner to the second row in the lower right corner. The currently
active program icon will light.
4 Press the MENU button repeatedly until the POPCORN program in the program
guide lights up. You have selected the program POPCORN.
5 Press the button Start/Stop to start the program.
6 The appliance will stop automatically when the program has completed.
NOTE: When the program has completed, the fans will continue to cool the inside of the
device for about 1 minute.
7 Wait 1 minute for the fans of the appliance to stop running.
8 Press the button Start/Stop to turn the appliance off.
9 Carefully open the door.
10 Allow the appliance to cool completely.
11 Make sure that the grill underlays are not hot anymore and remove them.
12 Clean the appliance and its components as described in CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE.
NOTE: The appliance may give off a slight odor when rst used. This is normal and will
disappear during operation.
