When to replace the cartridge
Replace the lter after 60 pots of coffee or 6 weeks after rst use, whichever comes
rst. Unused cartridges can be stored indenitely.
The machine automatically counts the number of pots brewed and the display will
illuminate with a „CLEAN“ icon when the charcoal lter needs to be replaced.
Discard the used lter and replace with a fresh charcoal lter. Follow installation
instructions as described above.
Once fresh lter has been placed in the water tank, hold the „AROMA“ and
„AUTO“ button at the same time until the „CLEAN“ icon disappears.
The machine will reset and count another 60 pots of coffee.
Note: Do not use charcoal lter for longer than recommended. Change the charcoal
lter as advised for best tasting coffee.
Gold tone lter and lter insert
Push the lter holder button (Fig. 6). The lter holder swings open. The Goldtone
lter and the lter insert can be removed.
Before grinding/brewing coffee, always make sure that the GoldTone lter is empty
and placed into the lter insert.
Note: Leaving used coffee grinds in the lter basket can lead to problems with the
machine. Excess moisture can build inside the ground coffee chute and grinding a
second portion of beans on top of used coffee grounds can lead to severe clogging.
When possible, always remove the used coffee grounds shortly after brewing cycle
has been completed. Use caution if grounds still appear to be hot.
Never use the coffee maker without the lter insert and GoldTone lter. Extremely
hot water can overow onto the machine and counter. If this occurs, turn the
machine off, unplug and wait until the brewing stops.
Then push the lter holder button, add the lter insert and the GoldTone lter and
close the lter holder. Place the carafe underneath and continue brewing until the
water tank is empty.
