Important Notes
• Check beans for foreign objects. The bean container will hold approximately 8-oz
of beans. Never ll the bean container with frozen or coated beans.
• If the bean container lid is not in place when the BREW button is pressed, the
machine will beep indicating there is an error. Push down on the lid to fully engage
the lid.
Filling the water container
• Grasp the back section of the water tank and pull the water tank straight up.
• Open the water container lid (11) and ll the water container with the desired
amount of fresh, cold water. Follow the 2 – 12 cup markings on the side of the
water container and ll to the corresponding cups you programmed in the CUPS
setting.
Notz: Never ll water above the 12-cup marking!
Charcoal water ltration
The Coffee Maker comes with one charcoal cartridge and a charcoal lter holder. You
can brew coffee with or without the water ltration system. NOTE: If you use distilled,
spring or bottled water or if your water has little or no chlorine you may not nd a
difference in taste in your coffee when using the water ltration system. However, most
tap water is treated with chlorine. The water lter cartridge removes up to 82% of the
chlorine found in your tap water.
Initial Preparation
• Open the water container lid and remove the charcoal lter holder.
• Remove the charcoal lter from polybag.
• Soak the lter in a glass with cold water for a few minutes. This will activate the lter.
• Insert the cartridge into the charcoal lter holder (Fig. 12) and snap charcoal lter
holder closed.
• Place the charcoal lter holder back into the water tank and ensure it is tted tightly
above the valve.
