TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Possible Causes / Solutions
Oven will not work. y Plug is not completely inserted in the electrical outlet. Make sure that the electrical plug
is plugged into a live, properly grounded outlet.
y A fuse in your home may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped. Replace the fuse or
reset the circuit breaker.
y Oven controls improperly set. See the "Using the oven" section.
y Oven is too hot. Allow the oven to cool.
Oven light does not work. y Replace or tighten bulb. See the "Oven light" section.
Oven smokes excessively dur-
ing broiling.
y Control not set properly. Refer to the "Using the oven" section.
y Meat is too close to the broil element. Reposition the rack to provide proper clearance
between the meat and the element.
y Meat is not properly prepared. Remove excess fat from meat. Cut remaining fatty edges to
prevent curling.
y Broiler pan is upside down and the grease is not draining. Always place the grid on the
broiler pan with ribs up and slots down to allow grease to drip into the pan.
y Grease has built up on oven surfaces. Regular cleaning is necessary when broiling fre-
quently.
y Old grease or food spatters cause excessive smoking. Clean the interior of the oven.
Food does not bake or roast
properly.
y Oven controls improperly set. See the "Using the oven" section.
y Rack position is incorrect or the rack is not level. Refer to the "Rack and Pan Placement"
section.
y Incorrect cookware or cookware of improper size being used. Refer to the "Using the
proper cookware" section.
Food does not broil properly. y Improper rack position being used. Refer to the "Removing and replacing oven racks"
section.
y Cookware not suited for broiling.
Food does not broil properly. y Aluminum foil used on the broiling pan and grid has not been tted properly and slit as
recommended.
y In some areas the power voltage may be low. Preheat the broil element for 5-7 minutes.

Displayed Time is ashing. y This is normal. This means that the product has just been plugged in, or that it has ex-
perienced a power interruption. To clear the ashing time, press any key and reset the
clock if needed.
Oven control display PF mes-
sage.
y PF” means there has been a power interruption in your home. Press Clear/o Key and
the “On/O” key on the cooktop controls to clear this code. It may also require you to
reset the time for the display.
