42 Care and Cleaning
Broiler Pan Cleaning Tips
To make cleaning easier, line the bottom of the broiler pan with
aluminum foil. Do not cover the broiler grid with foil.
To prevent grease from baking on, remove the broiler pan from
the oven as soon as cooking is completed. Use hot pads
because the broiler pan is extremely hot. Pour off grease. Soak
the pan in hot, soapy water.
Clean the broiler pan as soon as possible after each use. If
necessary, use soap-filled steel wool pads. Heavy scouring may
scratch the grid.
Aluminum Foil and Oven Liners
Do not use oven bottom liners or use aluminum foil to cover the
oven racks.
Protective liners—Do not use aluminum foil to line the oven
bottom, except as suggested in the manual. Improper installation
of these liners may result in a risk of electrical shock, or fire.
Using a liner in the oven restricts the heat and air flow needed
to obtain the best possible cooking results for any oven.
During fresh clean the oven temperature can become hot
enough to melt aluminum cooking utensils or aluminum foil if left
in the oven. This could result in permanent damage to the oven
interior and porcelain finish.
