SpeedBoost
®
function
This function enables you to heat up large quantities of
water faster than when using heat setting
Š.
To see which element is equipped with this feature check
the cooktop for the printings boost
G.
For dual elements, the outer ring has to be activated in
order to use this function.
Setting the SpeedBoost
®
function
1.
Select the element.
2.
Touch the Speed Boost key. A signal sounds and
lights up in the display.
The function is activated.
Cancelling the SpeedBoost
®
function
1.
Select the element.
2.
Touch the Speed Boost key, or set a heat level for
ongoing cooking. A signal sounds and the indicator
goes out. The element switches to heat level Š.
The function is deactivated.
Note: The duration of the SpeedBoost
®
function is
restricted. After 20 minutes the element will switch
automatically to heat level Š.

RISK OF FIRE
Oil and fat heat up quickly with the SpeedBoost
®
function. Overheated oil or fat may ignite, never
leave the cooktop unattended while cooking with
the SpeedBoost
®
function.
AutoChef
®
When you are using AutoChef
®
to operate the heating
element, a sensor controls the temperature of the pan.
The front left element of your cooktop model is equipped
with this feature.
Advantages when frying
The cooking element only heats when it is necessary.
This saves energy.
Oil and grease do not overheat.
9 CAUTION
Never leave oil or fat cooking unattended.
Place the pan in the centre of the element. Make
sure that the base of the pan has the proper
diameter.
Do not cover the pan with a lid. The automatic
programming will not work. A mash splatter
guard can be used without affecting the
automatic regulation.
Only use fat or oil that is suitable for frying. When
you are using butter, margarine, native olive oil or
pork lard, select frying level 1 or 2.
AutoChef
®
is not suitable for boiling.

A suitable frying pan for use with AutoChef
®
is available
as optional accessory. You can buy our system pan in
specialized stores, or through our Technical Assistance
Service. Always indicate the related reference code.

The frying pan has a non-stick coating, which means that
very little oil is needed for frying.
Notes
The AutoChef
®
function was set especially for this type
of frying pan.
Other frying pans may overheat. The temperature can
be set higher or lower. Try the low heat setting first and
then change it according to your requirements.
Make sure that the diameter of the base of the frying
pan corresponds to the size of the element. Place the
pan in the centre of the element.
Frying levels

1 Very low Preparing and reducing sauces, sweating vegetables and frying food in extra virgin olive
oil, butter or margarine.
2 Low Frying food using extra virgin olive oil, butter or margarine, e.g. omelettes, French toast,
hash browns.
3 Medium – low Frying fish, pancakes and thick food such as Hamburgers or pork chops.
4 Medium – high Frying ground meat, vegetables or thin slices of meat, e.g. veal cutlet.
5 High Frying food at high temperatures, e.g. steaks medium rare or fried boiled potatoes.
