Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools
with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with
these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the
work to be performed.
Use of the power tool for operations different
from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and
grease.
Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe
handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.
1.1.5 Battery Tool Use and Care
Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer.
A
charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of
fire when used with another battery pack.
Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs.
Use
of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal
objects,
like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal
objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery;
avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid
contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help.
Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or modified.
Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour
resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive
temperature.
Exposure to fire or temperature above 130°C (265°F) may
cause explosion.
Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack
or tool outside the temperature range specified in the instructions.
Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specified range may
damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
1.1.6 Service
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using
only identical replacement parts.

1.2 General Chainsaw Safety Warnings
Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain when the
chainsaw is operating. Before you start the chainsaw, make sure the
background
7
EN
saw chain is not contacting anything.
A moment of inattention while
operating chainsaws may cause entanglement of your clothing or body
with the saw chain.
Always hold the chainsaw with your right hand on the rear handle
and your left hand on the front handle.
Holding the chainsaw with a
reversed hand configuration increases the risk of personal injury and
should never be done.
Hold the chainsaw by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the
saw chain may contact hidden wiring.
Saw chains contacting a “live”
wire may make exposed metal parts of the chainsaw “live” and could give
the operator an electric shock.
Wear eye protection. Further protective equipment for hearing,
head, hands, legs and feet is recommended.
Adequate protective
equipment will reduce personal injury from flying debris or accidental
contact with the saw chain.
Do not operate a chainsaw in a tree, on a ladder, from a rooftop, or
any unstable support.
Operation of a chainsaw in this manner could
result in serious personal injury.
Always keep proper footing and operate the chainsaw only when
standing on fixed, secure and level surface.
Slippery or unstable
surfaces may cause a loss of balance, or control of the chainsaw.
When cutting a limb that is under tension, be alert for spring back.
When the tension in the wood fibres is released, the spring loaded limb
may strike the operator and/or throw the chainsaw out of control.
Use extreme caution when cutting brush and saplings.
The slender
material may catch the saw chain and be whipped toward you or pull you
off balance.
Carry the chainsaw by the front handle with the chainsaw switched
off and away from your body. When transporting or storing the
chainsaw, always fit the guide bar cover.
Proper handling of the
chainsaw will reduce the likelihood of accidental contact with the moving
saw chain.
Follow instructions for lubricating, chain tensioning and changing
the bar and chain.
Improperly tensioned or lubricated chain may either
break or increase the chance for kickback.
Cut wood only. Do not use chainsaw for purposes not intended. For
example: do not use chainsaw for cutting metal, plastic, masonry or
non-wood building materials.
Use of the chainsaw for operations
different than intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Do not attempt to fell a tree until you have an understanding of the
risks and how to avoid them.
Serious injury could occur to the operator
or bystanders while felling a tree.
Follow all instructions when clearing jammed material, storing or
servicing the chainsaw. Make sure the switch is off and the battery
pack is removed.
Unexpected actuation of the chainsaw while clearing
background

EN
jammed material or servicing may result in serious personal injury.
1.3 Causes and Operator Prevention of Kickback
Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar touches an
object, or when the wood closes in and pinches the saw chain in the cut.
Tip contact in some cases may cause a sudden reverse reaction,
kicking the guide bar up and back towards the operator.
Pinching the saw chain along the top of the guide bar may push the
guide bar rapidly back towards the operator.
Either of these reactions may cause you to lose control of the saw
which could result in serious personal injury. Do not rely exclusively upon
the safety devices built into your saw. As a chainsaw user, you should take
several steps to keep your cutting jobs free from accident or injury.
Kickback is the result of chainsaw misuse and/or incorrect operating
procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper
precautions as given below:
Maintain a firm grip, with thumbs and fingers encircling the chainsaw
handles, with both hands on the saw and position your body and arm to
allow you to resist kickback forces. Kickback forces can be controlled by
the operator, if proper precautions are taken. Do not let go of the
chainsaw.
Do not overreach and do not cut above shoulder height. This helps
prevent unintended tip contact and enables better control of the
chainsaw in unexpected situations.
Only use replacement guide bars and saw chains specified by the
manufacturer. Incorrect replacement guide bars and saw chains may
cause chain breakage and/or kickback.
Follow the manufacturer’s sharpening and maintenance instructions
for the saw chain. Decreasing the depth gauge height can lead to
increased kickback.
NOTE:
Although all reasonable and necessary safety measures have been
adopted in the design, production, and testing of this power tool to
minimize potential risks, due to the inherent characteristics of mechanical
products and the diversity of usage scenarios, there may still be residual
risks that cannot be completely eliminated.

User Manual before operating. Failure to do so may
result in serious injury to the user and/or bystander.
Wear goggles, and ear protection.
Wear protective gloves.
Wear sturdy boots with nonslip soles.
Be aware of kickback. Contact of the guide bar tip with
any object should be avoided.
Always use both hands when operating the chainsaw.
Do not use a guide bar longer than the maximum
length indicated (450/406 mm). Using a longer bar
may increase kickback risk, overload the motor, and
compromise chain brake effectiveness.

4.5 Felling
WARNING:
• Avoid felling trees during high winds, storms, heavy rain, or poor
visibility.
• Do not fell trees that lean at extreme angles or large trees with rotten
limbs, loose bark, or hollow trunks. Instead, have these trees pushed or
dragged down with heavy equipment and then cut them up.
• When felling a tree, keep everyone – helpers, bystanders, children,
and animals – a safe distance away from the cutting area. During felling
operations, the safe distance should be at least twice the height of the
tree being felled.
• Never fell a tree in a way that could endanger people, buildings, or
utility lines. If a tree contacts a utility line, stay away and immediately
notify the utility provider.
• Keep on the uphill side, as the tree may roll or slide downhill after
felling.
background
21
EN
• If the tree begins to fall in the wrong direction or the saw becomes
stuck, leave the area immediately and abandon the tool if necessary.
4.5.1 Before You Fell
• Check the tree for decay, hollow areas, or dead limbs, and clear all dirt,
stones, loose bark, nails, staples, and wire from the area where felling cuts
are to be made.
• Evaluate the natural lean of the tree, wind direction, and branch
distribution to determine its fall path.
• Prepare two safety retreat paths. Your retreat path should lead
diagonally back from the expected line of fall and be free from
obstructions.

4.5.2 Felling Procedure
Notch Cut
1. On the side facing the intended felling direction, make a horizontal cut
into the trunk to a depth of about 1/3 of its diameter.
2. Make a second cut downward at
approximately a 60° angle to meet the
horizontal cut, forming a notch.
Back Cut
3. On the opposite side of the notch, make
a horizontal cut at least 50 mm above the
base of the notch. Do not cut through; leave a
hinge.
4. As the back cut approaches the hinge, the
tree should begin to fall. If the tree shows any
sign of falling in the wrong direction, or if it
begins to settle back and pinch the saw chain,
stop cutting immediately. Insert wedges into
the back cut to open the cut and guide the
tree to fall in the desired direction.
5. Once the tree starts to fall, withdraw the

chainsaw, release the trigger, set the saw on the ground, and retreat along
a pre-planned escape route.
WARNING:
After felling, wait until the tree has come to a complete
rest. Inspect for tensioned or suspended branches and any entanglement
with neighboring trees from a safe position before approaching.
4.6 Limbing
WARNING:
Stand to the side of the trunk and trim limbs from the
opposite side, keeping the tree stem between you and the chainsaw.
WARNING:
Never straddle or stand on top of the trunk.
WARNING:
Never place the chainsaw between your legs when cutting.
1. Leave larger lower limbs in place to support the trunk above the ground.
2. Remove small branches in one cut.
3. Branches under tension should be cut from the bottom up to avoid
binding the chainsaw.
4.7 Bucking
WARNING:
Always stand on the uphill side of the log when bucking on
a slope.
WARNING:
Bucking may cause the saw to pull forward or push back,
depending on the cutting direction. Always maintain a firm two-handed
grip, stable footing, and do not force the saw.
WARNING:
Near the end of a cut, reduce cutting pressure to prevent
kickback or saw damage. Avoid contact between the chain and the
ground.
WARNING:
Let the chain come to a complete stop before repositioning
or moving the saw.
4.7.1 Select a Cutting Method
To avoid saw binding and maintain better control, select a cutting method
according to how the log is supported, and use the spike as a pivot to
guide the chainsaw:
Log supported along entire length: Overbuck
• Place the bottom of the guide bar on top of the log.
• Apply light, steady downward pressure to begin the cut. Let the saw
feed naturally into the wood—do not force it.

6.2 Sharpen the Saw Chain
The chain may require sharpening if it produces only fine, powder-
like chips, cuts to one side, or feels noticeably harder than usual to cut
through the wood.
WARNING:
Never use a dull, damaged or improperly sharpened saw
chain. It increases the potential of kickback.
WARNING:
Always wear cut-resistant gloves and safety glasses when
handling or filing the chain.
WARNING:
If the cutter teeth are damaged by contact with hard
objects (e.g., nails, stones) or worn down by dirt, mud, or sand on the
wood, have the chain sharpened by a qualified service technician.
Proper sharpening
WARNING:
Always remove the battery pack before performing any
work on the guide bar or chain.
Use a dedicated round file for saw chains. Use a file holder if
necessary. Lift the file away from the cutter on each return stroke.
Sharpen all cutters to the same length (a).
Cutters of different
lengths cause rough chain operation and may lead to chain cracking.
Minimum cutter length: 3 mm.
Do not continue sharpening once this
limit is reached. The chain must be replaced at this point (see
Section 6.3
).
Recommended Depth-Gauge: 0.64 mm.
Excessive depth increases
the risk of kickback.
Sharpening angle: 25°; 70°.
The sharpening angle must be identical
for all cutters. Different angles cause rough and irregular chain operation,
increase wear, and may lead to chain breakage.

wear, damage, or improper tracking. Replace the saw chain or guide bar
immediately if any such conditions are observed.
WARNING:
Do not continue using a damaged bar or chain. It may
result in poor cutting performance or serious injury.
WARNING:
Always wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the bar
and chain, these components are sharp and may contain burrs.
1. Remove the battery pack and allow the saw to cool.
2. Position the chainsaw on a firm, flat surface with the side cover facing up.
3. Loosen the side cover nuts and remove the cover. Clean the side cover
with a dry cloth.
4. Turn the chain-tensioning bolt with the flat end of the wrench to loosen
the chain.
5. Remove the worn bar and chain.
