GENERAL SAFETY RULES
WARNING
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS and SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
When using the grass trimmer the safety rules must be followed. For your own
safety and bystanders please read these instructions before operating the grass trimmer.
Do not use the grass trimmer without reading the instruction sheet. Please keep the
instructions safe for later use.
• This grass trimmer is designed for cutting grass, soft vegetation, and for edging.
• The device is not allowed to be used in public gardens, parks, sports centers or at roadsides as
well as in agriculture and forestry.
• This grass trimmer is not allowed to be used for cutting or chopping, otherwise, there is a risk of
injury.
- Hedges, shrubs and bushes,
- Flowers,
- In terms of composting.
• Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the trimmer.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts. Use of gloves
and substantial footwear is recommended when working outdoors. Wear protective hair covering
to contain long hair.
• Stop using the grass trimmer while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.
• Only use the grass trimmer in daylight or good artificial light.
• Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protection should be provided on the circuit(s) or outlet(s)
to be used for the gardening appliance. Receptacles are available having built-in GFCI protection
and may be used for this measure of safety.
• Before using the grass trimmer and after any impact, check for signs of wear or damage and
repair as necessary.
• Never operate the grass trimmer with damaged guards or without the guards in place.
• Keep hands and feet away from the cutting means at all times and especially when switching on
the motor.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES
• To reduce the risk of electric shock, use only with an extension cord intended for outdoor use,
such as an extension cord of cord type SW-A, SOW-A, STW-A, STOW-A, SJW-A, SJOW-A,
SJTW-A. or SJTOW-A.

Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
• Take care against injury from any device fitted for trimming the filament line length. After
extending new cutter line always return the grass trimmer to its normal operating position before
switching on.
• Never fit metal cutting elements.
• Never use replacement parts or accessories not provided or recommended by the manufacturer.
• Disconnect the grass trimmer from the outlet before checking, cleaning or working on the grass
trimmer and when it is not in use.
•
Only use identical replacement parts when servicing a tool with double insulation. Servicing
should be performed by a qualified technician.
•
Always ensure that ventilation openings are kept clear of debris.
• Avoid unintentional starting. Don't carry plugged-in appliance with finger on switch.
• Don't abuse cord. Never carry appliance by cord or yank it to disconnect from outlet.

• Do not expose to moisture.
• Use only on AC outlets supply voltage shown on the product rating label.

Avoid operating your trimmer in wet grass, where feasible.
• Don't use in rain.
• On slopes, be extra careful of your footing and wear nonslip footwear.
• Do not walk backwards when trimming, you could trip. Walk, never run.
• Switch off before pushing the trimmer over surfaces other than grass.
• Never pick up or carry a trimmer by the cord.
• Do not lean over the trimmer guard objects may be throw by the cutting line.
• Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the trimmer is in safe working condition.
• To avoid the risk of injury keep fingers and hands clear of the line cutter on the leading edge of
the guard.

MAINTENANCE
• After use, disconnect the machine from the outlet and check for damage
• When not in use, appliances should be stored indoors in dry, and high or locked-up place – out
of reach of children.
• Corded powered trimmers should only be repaired by an authorized technician.
• Use only manufacturers recommended replacement parts and accessories.
The preparation for use, operation and maintenance of the appliance:
- Keep cutting edge sharp and clean for best performance and to reduce the risk of injury. Follow
instructions for lubricating and changing accessories. Inspect appliance cord periodically, and if
damaged, have it repaired by an authorized service facility. Inspect extension cords periodically
and replace if damaged. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
- Read the instructions carefully.
- Be familiar with the controls and proper use of the equipment.
- Before use check the supply and extension cord for signs of damage or aging.
- If the cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect the cord from the power supply
immediately.
- Do not use the lawn trimmer (edge trimmer), if the cords are damaged or worn.
- Cutting elements continue to rotate after the motor is switched off;
- Keep extension cords away from cutting elements;

This grass trimmer has a plug that looks like the one shown in Fig. 1
The grass trimmer is double insulated to provide a double thickness of insulation between you and
the tool’s electrical system. All exposed metal parts are isolated from the internal metal motor
components with protective insulation.

ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
Make sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition. Always replace a
damaged extension cord or have it repaired by a qualified person before use. Keep extension cords
away from sharp objects, excessive heat and damp or wet areas.
GUIDELINES FOR USING EXTENSION CORDS
USE THE PROPER EXTENSION CORD. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product
will draw. An undersized cord will cause overheating. The table below shows the correct size to use
depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge.
The smaller the gauge number, the heavier the cord.

ALTHOUGH THIS GRASS TRIMMER IS DOUBLE INSULATED, THE
EXTENSION CORD AND RECEPTACLE MUST STILL BE GROUNDED
WHILE IN USE TO PROTECT THE OPERATOR FROM ELECTRICAL SHOCK.
Use a separate electrical circuit for your tools. This circuit should comprise a wire of at least 12
gauge and should be protected with a 15 A time-delayed fuse. Before connecting the motor to the
power line, make sure the switch is in the OFF position and the electric current is identical to that
stamped on the motor nameplate. Running at a lower voltage will damage the motor.

operator’s manual as well as a knowledge of the project you are attempting. Before use of this

ASSEMBLY
FITTING THE GUARD (See Figure 2 & Figure 3.)
ASSEMBLE THE FLOWER GUARD (See Figure 4 & Figure 5.)
Before assembly, make sure that the grass trimmer is switched off and
unplugged.
1. Place the guard onto the grass trimmer as shown in Figure 2 and rotate the guard in position
in Figure 3.
2. Secure the guard with the screw.
1. Pull the flower guard wide enough to extend wide enough to fit over the moter housing.
2. Put both ends of the steel bar into the recessed cavities on the motor housing.
Never use the grass trimmer unless the guard is properly fitted.

FITTING THE AUXILIARY HANDLE (See Figure 7& Figure 8.)
Loosen and remove the wing nut and bolt from the auxiliary handle.
1. Place the auxiliary handle on the upper shaft. Adjust the handle to mount on the index channel
as shown.
2. Along the index channel, slide the auxiliary handle to the most comfortable position.
3. Insert the bolt in the hole on the auxiliary handle and tighten the wing nut securely.

JOINING THE UPPER SHAFT TO THE MOTOR HEAD (See Figure 9.)
1. Align the upper shaft with the lower shaft.
2. Insert upper shaft into the lower shaft and lock pin button into place.
Never adjust the upper handle while the power head is running. Failure
to stop the motor may cause serious personal injury
NOTE:
If the button does not release completely in the positioning hole, the shafts are not locked
into place. Slightly rotate from side to side until the button is locked into place.

PREPARING THE TRIMMER FOR USE

1.Attach the outlet end of an extension cord to the plug on the rear of the grass trimmer.
NOTE: Use only approved outdoor extension cords.

2. Route the extension cord through the slot located on the rear of the grass trimmer housing and
place underneath the cord retainer.
3. To start the grass trimmer, press the switch trigger.
4. To stop the grass trimmer, release the switch trigger.

OPERATION
HINT FOR OPTIMUM USE (See Figure 12.)
• In order to achieve optimum cutting results, only cut dry grass.
TRIMMING
• Hold the grass trimmer as shown in Fig. 12.
• Gently swing the trimmer from side to side.
• When cutting long grass, work in stages from hard objects and delicate plants.
• If the grass trimmer starts running slowly, reduce the load.
USING THE FLOWER GUARD (See Figure 13.)
• If necessary the flower guard can be swung down until it engages. Use the flower guard
for example, to cut around delicate plants or flowers.

• With the trimmer running, release the switch trigger.
• Wait two seconds, and press the switch trigger.
• It may take up to 10 complete starting and stopping to advance the line.
NOTE: Auto feed function works during the starting and stopping of trimmer.
Line will extend approximately 3/16 in. with each stop and start of switch
trigger WHILE NOT TRIMMING until the line reaches the length of the grass
deflector blade.
ROTATING MAIN HANDLE FOR EDGING (See Figure 14.)
NOTE:
The best method of edging is performed with the main handle rotated.
1. Unplug the grass trimmer.
2. Press the rotational lock button and rotate
the main handle clockwise.
3. Release button when main handle has been
rotated 180° to the edging position.
4. Rotate auxiliary handle 180° and snap onto
index channel.
EDGING (See Figure 15.)
1. The rotating main handle can be used in
combination with the flower guard for edging
sidewalks and walkways. To use the flower
guard, flip down from its stored position.

ADVANCING LINE
NOTE: Trimmer is equipped with an auto-feed head.
Do not bump the head or try to advance the line. This will damage the
trimmer and void the warranty.

Your grass trimmer has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of
maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning.

MAINTENANCE
FITTING A NEW SPOOL OF CUTTING LINE (See Figures 16 & 17)
• Unplug the grass trimmer.
• Remove the empty spool. See Figure 16.
• Press the both tabs ķ and remove the spool cover ĸ from the cutting head Ĺ. Remove the
empty spool ĺfrom the cutting head.
• Replace with a new spool. See Figure 17
• Release both cutting lines from the parking slot and guide the lines into both eyelet Ļ. The
lines should protrude approx. 4inches from the eyelet Ļ.
• Put the new spool ĺinto the cutting head Ĺ. Rotate the spool slightly until it is seated.
• Snap the spool cover ĸ on the cutting head Ĺ and ensure it is in place.
If the cutting lines protrude beyond the trimming blade, cut them off so that they
just reach the blade.

Before performing any maintenance, switch off and unplug the tool.
• Regularly clean the ventilation slot in your grass trimmer using a soft brush or
dry cloth.
• Regularly clean the cutting line and spool using a soft brush or dry cloth.
• Regularly use a blunt scraper to remove grass and dirt from the underneath
of the guard.

WINDING NEW LINE ONTO A SPOOL (See Figures 18, 19, & 20)
• You may wind new cutting line ⑥ onto an empty spool.
• Replacement packs of cutting line ⑥ are available from dealer.
• Remove the empty spool from the grass trimmer as described above.
• Remove any remaining cutting line ⑥ from the spool.
• Prepare 2 cutting lines ⑥ with the same length for winding. There are 4 eyelets ⑦ in the spool,
2 eyelets ⑦ in the upper section and 2 eyelets ⑦ in the lower section.
• First feed 4 inches of cutting lines ⑥ into the two eyelets ⑦. Two eyelets ⑦ should be in the
different sections of spool.
• Wind the cutting lines ⑥ onto the spool in the direction of the arrow showed on spool. Make sure
to wind the line ⑥ on neatly and in layers. Do not criss-cross.
• After winding, fix the end of line ⑥ in the parking slot of spool.
• If you want to use, operate as described above to fix the spool on the grass trimmer. Do not
forget to release the cutting line ⑥ from the parking slot.

If your grass trimmer seems not to operate properly, follow the instruction below.
If this does not solve the problems, please contact your local repair agent.

TROUBLESHOOTING
TOOL RUNS SLOWLY
• Check that the spool housing can rotate freely. Carefully clean it if necessary.
• Check that the cutting line does not protrude more than 4 inches from the spool housing. If it
does, cut it off so that it just reaches the line trimming blade.
AUTOMATIC LINE FEED DOES NOT WORK.
• Keep the tabs depressed and remove the spool cover from the housing.
• Pull the cutting line until it protrudes 4 inches from the housing. If insufficient cutting line is left on
the spool, install a new spool of cutting line as instructed above.
• Align the tabs on the spool cover with the cut outs in the housing.
• Pushing the cover onto the housing until it snaps securely into place.
• If the cutting line protrudes beyond the trimming blade, cut it off so that it just reaches the blade.
• If the automatic line feed still does not work or the spool is jammed, try the following suggestion:
• Carefully clean the spool cover and housing.
• Remove the spool and check if the lever can move freely.
• Remove the spool and unwind the cutting line, then wind it on neatly again as describe above.
Replace the spool as instructed.
Before proceeding, switch off and unplug.

under normal household use. If product is to be used for commercial, industrial or rental use, a 30

Items not covered by warranty :
1. Any part that has become inoperative due to misuse, commercial use, abuse, neglect, accident,
improper maintenance, or alteration; or
2. The unit, if it has not been operated and/or maintained in accordance with the owner's manual;

3. Normal wear, except as noted below;
4. Routine maintenance items such as lubricants, blade sharpening;
5. Normal deterioration of the exterior finish due to use or exposure.
Transportation Charges : Transportation charges for the movement of any power equipment unit or
attachment are the responsibility of the purchaser. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to pay
transportation charges for any part submitted for replacement under this warranty unless such
return is requested in writing by LawnMaster.

Utilice un circuito eléctrico separado para sus herramientas. Este circuito debiese tener un cable de
al menos calibre 12 y estar protegido con un fusible con retardo de tiempo de 15 A. Antes de

Antes de armar, asegúrese de que la bordeadora esté apagada y

2. Fije el protector con el tornillo.

Suelte y saque la tuerca de mariposa y el perno de la manilla auxiliar.

Coloque la manilla auxiliar en el eje superior. Ajuste la manilla para montarla en la ranura guía,
como se indica.
2. Por la ranura guía, deslice la manilla auxiliar hacia la posición más cómoda.
3. Inserte el perno en el orificio de la manilla auxiliar y apriete la tuerca de mariposa firmemente.

1. Alinee el eje superior con el eje inferior.
2. Inserte el eje superior en el eje inferior y bloquee el botón pasador.
Jamás ajuste la manilla superior mientras el cabezal motriz está andando.
No detener el motor podría provocar lesiones personales graves.
NOTA:
Si el botón no se suelta del todo en el orificio de posición, los ejes no están fijados en su
lugar. Gire lentamente de lado a lado hasta que el botón calce en su lugar.

• Deslice la bordeadora suavemente de un lado al otro.
• Al cortar pasto alto, trabaje por niveles, comenzado desde arriba.
• Si la bordeadora se enciende con lentitud, reduzca la carga.
CÓMO USAR EL PROTECTOR PARA FLORES (consulte la Figura 13.)
• De ser necesario, el protección para flores se puede deslizar hacia abajo hasta quedar fijo. Use
el protector para flores para, por ejemplo, cortar alrededor de plantas o flores delicadas.

• Espere dos segundos y pulse el gatillo interruptor.
• Podría tomar hasta 10 ciclos completos de inicio y detención para hacer avanzar el hilo.
NOTA: El sistema de alimentación automático funciona durante el inicio y
detención de la bordeadora. La línea se extenderán, aproximadamente, 3/16
de pulgada con cada detención e inicio del gatillo interruptor MIENTRAS NO
ESTÁ CORTANDO, hasta que la línea llegue al largo de la hoja de corte del
deflector de pasto.
CÓMO GIRAR LA MANILLA PRINCIPAL PARA CORTAR BORDES
(consulte la Figura 14.)
NOTA:
El mejor método para cortar bordes
se realiza con la manilla principal girada.
1. Desenchufe la bordeadora.
2.
Presione el botón de bloqueo de giro y gire
la manilla principal hacia la derecha.
3. Suelte el botón cuando la manilla haya girado
en 180° hacia la posición de corte de bordes.
4. Gire la manilla auxiliar en 180° y hágala
calzar en la ranura guía.

1. La manilla giratoria principal se puede usar en
combinación con la protección para flores a fin
de cortar bordes en senderos y aceras. Para
usar la protección para flores, despliéguela

INSTALACIÓN DE UN NUEVO CARRETE DE HILO DE CORTE

• Desenchufe la bordeadora.
• Saque el carrete vacío. Consulte la Figura 16.

Presione ambas pestañas ķ y extraiga la tapa del carrete ĸ del cabezal de corte Ĺ. Saque el
carrete vacío ĺ del cabezal de corte.
• Reemplace usando un carrete nuevo. Consulte la Figura 17.

Suelte ambas líneas de corte desde la ranura de asentamiento y guíelas hacia ambos ojales Ļ.
Las líneas deben asomarse aproximadamente 4 pulgadas desde el ojal Ļ.

• Puede enrollar una línea de corte nueva ļ en un carrete vacío.
• Puede comprar paquetes de línea de corte ļ de repuesto en tiendas especializadas.
• Quite el carrete vacío de la bordeadora como se indica anteriormente.
• Quite cualquier resto de línea de corte ļ del carrete.

Prepare 2 líneas de corte ļ con el mismo largo para enrollarlas. Hay 4 ojales Ľ en el carrete, 2

LA HERRAMIENTA FUNCIONA LENTO
• Revise que la carcasa del carrete pueda girar libremente. Límpiela cuidadosamente de ser
necesario.
• Revise que el hilo de corte no sobresalga más de 10 cm desde la carcasa del carrete. Si lo
hace, córtelo para que alcance el aspa del cortador de hilo.
LA AUTOALIMENTACIÓN DE LA LÍNEA NO FUNCIONA.
• Mantenga las lengüetas presionadas y extraiga la cubierta del carrete desde la carcasa.
•
Tire el hilo de corte hasta que sobresalga 10 cm desde la carcasa. Si no queda suficiente hilo
en el carrete, instale un nuevo carrete de hilo como se indica anteriormente.
• Alinee las lengüetas de la cubierta del carrete con las muescas de la carcasa.
• Empuje la cubierta hacia la carcasa hasta que calce con seguridad en su lugar.
•
Si la línea de corte se asoma más allá de la hoja de corte, córtela para que llegue justo hasta la
hoja.
• Si la alimentación automática del hilo no funciona o si el carrete se atasca, intente la siguiente
sugerencia:
• Limpie cuidadosamente la cubierta del carrete y carcasa.
• Extraiga el carrete y revise que la palanca pueda moverse libremente.
•
Saque el carrete y desenrolle la línea de corte, luego enróllela de la manera más ordenada
posible, siguiendo las indicaciones mencionadas anteriormente. Reemplace el carrete como se
indica.
Antes de proceder, apague y desenchufe.
