1. SAFETY
1.1. GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS
Read all the safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions
listed below may result in electric shock, re and/or serious injury.
9 Save all warning and instructions for future reference.
9 Only to be used by those familiar with these instructions.
9 Inspect and ensure equipment is in good working order before use.
WARNING! Keep all parts of the body away from the cutter blade. DO NOT remove cut material or hold material to be cut when blades
are moving. Make sure the switch is OFF when clearing jammed material. A moment of inattention while operating the tool may result in
serious personal injury.
WARNING! Carry by the handle with the cutter blade stopped. Proper handling of the tool will reduce possible personal injury from the
cutter blades.
WARNING! Risk assess the work area. Keep bystanders and children away from the work area. DO NOT operate with anyone or pets
nearby. Check intended work area for wildlife and for foreign objects, electrical cables etc.
8 Never replace the non-metallic cutting means with metallic cutting means.
9 Remove the battery when the following occurs:
The machine is left by the user
Before clearing a blockage
Before checking, cleaning or working on the machine
After striking a foreign object to inspect the machine for damage
If the machine starts to vibrate abnormally.
8 Never operate the machine with a defective guard or shield, or without safety devices.
9 Avoid using the machine in bad weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of lightning
WARNING! Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of a
power tool may result in personal injury.
9 Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the o position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking
up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your ngers on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites
accidents.
WARNING! DO NOT allow water to enter into power tool. This will increase the risk of an electric shock.
WARNING! Never allow children, persons with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge or
people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine, local regulations may restrict the age of the operator.
WARNING! Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, ush with
water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
WARNING! Use of the power tool, accessories, and tool bits etc, in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the
working conditions, and the work to be performed. DO NOT use for a task it was not designed to perform.
1.1.1. WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF ACCIDENT OR BREAKDOWN:
8 DO NOT use if tool is accidentally knocked. Test for normal operation first. If tool vibrates abnormally, switch off, remove battery and then
inspect. Contact Sealey for help.
8 DO NOT touch hazardous moving parts. Allow tool to come to a complete stop first.
8 DO NOT use if damaged. DO NOT operate with defective guards or shields or without safety devices, and protective clothing.
9 Always store with the battery removed and separate from the power tool, in a dry, childproof location.
8 DO NOT force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at
the rate for which it was designed.
1.2. WORK AREA SAFETY
8 DO NOT operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create
sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
1.3. ELECTRICAL/BATTERY SAFETY
8 DO NOT expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
9 Ensure batteries are inserted with the correct polarity.
9 The supply terminals must not be short circuited.
1.4. MAINTENANCE

9 There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.
9 Check for unexpected vibration or noises before each use.
9 Check for misalignment or biding of the moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may aect the power tool’s
operation.
9 If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
9 Have your power tools services by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
9 Never disassemble tool yourself. For servicing and repair always contact your local Sealey Service Centre, or place of purchase.
1.5. PERSONAL SAFETY
9 Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool.
9 Always be sure of your footing on slopes and when walking with the machine. Never run.
8 DO NOT use a power tool whilst you are tired or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment inattention whilst
operating power tools may result in serious injury.
9 Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as non-skid safety shoes, hard hat
or hearing protection use for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. Dress properly. DO NOT wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving
parts.
9 Always wear substantial footwear and long trousers while operating the machine.
8 DO NOT over reach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected
situations.
CAUTION: Before installing the battery cartridge into the hedge trimmer, always check to see that the switch trigger and lock-o lever
actuates properly and returns to the “OFF” position when released. NOTE: DO NOT pull the switch trigger hard without pressing the
lock-o lever. This can cause switch breakage.
9 Always use by rmly holding both handles during operation.
1.6. POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
8 DO NOT force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at
the rate for which it was designed.
8 DO NOT use the power tool if the switch does not turn it ON and OFF. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is
dangerous and must be repaired. Contact place of purchase, or Sealey Service centre.
9 Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to
control.
9 Remove the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such
preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
9 Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with these power tools or these instructions to
operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
9 Use the power tool, accessories, and tool bits etc, in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions
and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations dierent from those intended could results in a hazardous situation.

5. OPERATION
5.1. Read and follow Safety Instructions in Section 1. Only to be used by those already familiar with its use.
5.2. This tool is designed to cut grass and weeds in gardens along ower beds and borders. DO NOT use in any other way. DO NOT use
to cut hedges, hard branches and wood or to crush material for compost. DO NOT use to cut grass that is not on the ground: grass
growing on walls, on rocks etc.
8 DO NOT use metal wire or plastic sheathed wire of any kind in the cutting head. This may lead to serious injuries for the operator.
WARNING! Remove battery before making any adjustments.
9 Ensure body is a safe distance from the blades before turning on.
WARNING! Keep children and other persons including animals at least 15m away from the work area.
WARNING! Only use this machine for its intended use.
WARNING! The blade will continue to spin for a few seconds after the ON/OFF switch is released.
5.3. Inspect before each for any broken parts or misalignment.
8 DO NOT use: in poor light, in bad weather especially when there is risk of a storm, if you are tired, ill, or under the influence of drugs or
alcohol or medication.
9 Walk DO NOT run. Be careful going backwards.
9 Be aware that stones or objects may be thrown.
8 Never touch the motor housing whilst in use.
8 DO NOT use the grass trimmer without the guard.
8 DO NOT t metal blades.
8 DO NOT cut grass when it is wet. The best results are achieved with dry grass.
5.4. Always wear appropriate eye protection, ear protection, substantial footwear, gloves, long trousers whilst operating.
5.5. Always hold the tool using both handles.
5.6. ADJUST HANDLES
5.6.1. Always adjust handles before use to achieve proper posture and balance for use of tool.
5.6.2. REAR HANDLE: Push button on side of handle to adjust angle.
5.6.3. LOWER HANDLE: Angle can be adjusted by loosening nut.
5.7. Push the battery pack into the mount provided.
5.8. SWITCH ON: Slide top lever (1) forwards then pull trigger (2) upwards to start.
Release to stop.
8 DO NOT allow the grass trimmer near the grass until the switch is pressed and the grass trimmer is in operation.
5.9. To cut properly, swing the machine sideways while moving forwards. Keep the grass trimmer inclined at an angle of approx. 30° while
you doing so.
5.10. If the grass is long, the grass must be cut shorter in stages.
5.11. To avoid unnecessary wear, keep the grass trimmer away from hard objects.
5.12. FAULT IDENTIFICATION
5.12.1. If tool does not work, check that battery is fully inserted and fully charged.
5.12.2. If this is unsuccessful contact Sealey service for assistance.
6. MAINTENANCE
WARNING! Remove battery pack before performing any Maintenance tasks.
6.1. CLEANING
6.1.1. Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth
and mild soap, or blow it down with compressed air at low pressure.
6.1.2. Always clean the equipment immediately after use.
6.1.3. Clean the equipment with a damp cloth and some mild soap. DO NOT use cleaning agents or solvents, these may be aggressive to the
plastic parts in the equipment. Ensure that no water can get into the interior of the equipment. The ingress of water into an electric tool
increases the risk of an electric shock.
6.1.4. Use a brush to remove deposits from the safety guard.
6.2. REPLACING THE BLADES
WARNING! Be sure to remove the battery pack before replacing.
6.2.1. To remove the blade, push the blade inwards and remove it through the larger opening on the end of the blade.
6.2.2. To fit the new blade, proceed in reverse order. Make sure the blade locks into place correctly.
6.3. STORAGE
6.3.1. If tool is to be stored for a long period, remove battery. Store carefully in its original packaging (to protect it from damage) in a secure, dry
place, out of the reach of children.
7. TRANSPORT
7.1. Tool must be protected from damage during transit.
8 DO NOT transport with battery inserted.
8. END OF LIFE
8.1. Remove battery.
8.2. Dismantle tool by reversing Assembly section above.
8.3. Dispose of according to local regulations in force.

WARNING! – Risk of Hand Arm Vibration Injury.
This tool may cause Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome if its use is not managed adequately.
This tool is subject to the vibration testing section of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
This tool is to be operated in accordance with these instructions.
Measured vibration emission value (a): 1.041 m/s²
Uncertainty value (k): 1.5 m/s²
Please note that the application of the tool to a sole specialist task may produce a different average vibration emission. We recommend
that a specific evaluation of the vibration emission is conducted prior to commencing with a specialist task.
A health and safety assessment by the user (or employer) will need to be carried out to determine the suitable duration of use for each
tool.
NB: Stated Vibration Emission values are type-test values and are intended to be typical.
Whilst in use, the actual value will vary considerably from and depend on many factors.
Such factors include; the operator, the task and the inserted tool or consumable.
NB: ensure that the length of leader hoses is sufficient to allow unrestricted use, as this also helps to reduce vibration.
The state of maintenance of the tool itself is also an important factor, a poorly maintained tool will also increase the risk of Hand Arm
Vibration Syndrome.
Health surveillance.
We recommend a programme of health surveillance to detect early symptoms of vibration injury so that management procedures can be
modified accordingly.
Personal protective equipment.
We are not aware of any personal protective equipment (PPE) that provides protection against vibration injury that may result from the
uncontrolled use of this tool. We recommend a sufficient supply of clothing (including gloves) to enable the operator to remain warm and
dry and maintain good blood circulation in fingers etc. Please note that the most effective protection is prevention, please refer to the
Correct Use and Maintenance section in these instructions. Guidance relating to the management of hand arm vibration can be found on

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to
a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely
unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids
according to local regulations.
