2. Remove the nut on the oil drain plug.
3. Remove the dipstick.
4. Let the oil run out into the container.
5. Push the oil drain plug in and turn it clockwise to
close it.
6. Attach the nut on the oil drain plug.
7. Turn the oil filter counterclockwise to remove it.
8. Lightly lubricate the rubber seal on the new oil filter
with new oil.
9. To attach the oil filter, turn it clockwise until the
rubber seal is in position, then tighten a half turn
more.
10. Fill with new oil as given in
Technical data on page
129
.
11. Start the engine and let it run at idle speed for 3
minutes.
12. Stop the engine and make sure that the oil filter does
not leak.
13. Do a check of the engine oil level. Refer to
To do a
check of the engine oil level on page 119
.
14. Fill with oil to the FULL mark on the oil dipstick.

For safe disposal of used engine oil, refer to
Disposal on page 128

To do a check of the transmission oil
level
WARNING: Do the transmission oil
check when the transmission is cool.
1. Remove the 2 screws, and remove the transmission
cover.
2. Make sure that the oil level in the transmission oil
tank is between the 2 horizontal lines on the tank.

3. Fill with engine oil if the oil level is below the lower
line, but do not fill above the top line. Refer to
Technical data on page 129
for recommended oil.
Lubrication, general information
Remove the ignition key to prevent accidental
movements during lubrication.
Clean the area before you lubricate a part on the
product.
Use engine oil when you lubricate with an oil can.
When you lubricate with grease, use a chassis or
ball bearing grease that prevents corrosion. Remove
unwanted grease after lubrication.
Lubricate 2 times a week if you operate the product
daily.
Do not spill lubricant on the drive belts or the
grooves of the belt pulleys. If you do spill, clean with
alcohol. If the friction between the drive belt and the
pulley is not sufficient after you clean with alcohol,
replace the drive belt.
CAUTION:
Do not use gasoline or other
petroleum products to clean drive belts.
