convection Bake
Convection Bake uses a fan to circulate the oven’s
heat uniformly around the oven. This improved
heat distribution allows for even cooking and
browning results. Heated air flows around the food
from all sides.
Convection bake may be set for any oven tempera-
ture between 170°F (77°C) and 550°F (288°C).
Benefits of convection cooking include:
Multiple rack baking.
Foods may cook faster, saving time and energy.
convection baking tips:
Fully preheat the oven before baking items like
cookies, cakes, biscuits, and breads.
For single rack baking, position the rack so that
food is in the center of the oven.
For best results when baking cakes using two
oven racks, place racks in positions 3 with o-
set rack and 5 using flat rack (See Figure 14).
When baking using two oven racks, position
cookware as shown in Figure 14.
Allow at least 2 inches (5 cm) of space be-
tween cookware for proper air circulation.
Dark or dull bakeware absorbs more heat than
shiny bakeware. It may be necessary to reduce
oven temperature and cook time to prevent
overbrowning of some foods.
Dark bakeware is recommended for pies. Shiny
bakeware is recommended for cakes, cookies,
and muns.
Do not open oven door too often. Doing so
reduces oven temperature and may extend
cooking time.
Most baked goods (except cakes) should be
baked on pans with no sides or low sides to
allow air to circulate.
to set the oven for convection bake and tempera-
ture to 375°f:
1. Arrange interior oven racks.
2. Turn the oVen mode knob to conVect
BaKe.
3. Adjust the oVen temp knob until the oven
display shows the temperature setting of
375°F.
4. The oven temperature light will blink for a few
seconds before sounding a chime confirm-
ing the setting. The convection fan will turn
on and the oven will begin heating. Once the
oven reaches the set temperature the oven will
sound a tone indicating the food items can be
placed in the oven.
5. When finished baking, be sure to return the
oven mode knob to the OFF positions.
