Before Calling for Service
Problem Check
Surface burner does not ignite.
Oven does not heat.
Oven temperature is not accurate.
Oven cycles on and off.
The oven smokes the first few times it is
turned on.
Rangetop is warm during use.
Pan rocks on grate
Range beeps and shows a "F-code" in
display.
Burner should ignite within 4 seconds. If burner does not ignite
within 4 seconds turn control knob to OFF position and follow
directions for installing burner caps 'lnstafling Cartridges"
section. If burner still does not ignite in 4 seconds, contact an
authorized servicer.
Check electrical power supply to range.
Store purchased oven thermometers do not measure oven
temperature accurately. An accurate thermometer is
necessary to calibrate oven.
Check for blocked heat vents.
Aluminum foil alters oven temperature.
Oven bottom may not be in correctly.
Oven thermostat capillary bulb in top part of oven cavity may
be touching side of oven cavity or coated with food or cleaner.
Clean or adjust clip to hold bulb away from oven wall.
Change oven temperature through oven temperature knob.
See "Adjusting Factory Set Baking Temperature" section page 25
for "USER" calibration procedure.
Do not broil with the door open, this may cause control failures
or control knobs to distort.
This condition is normal when baking or roasting. To maintain
a temperature for baking, oven cycles on and off. T he
temperature may vary up to 25°F higher or lower than the oven
temperature set on the control.
Minor smoking is normal first few times oven is used.
Performing a self-clean cycle should eliminate further smoking.
Normal condition. Area between front and rear burners can be
hot during use.
Check to see if pan is flat. See "Cooking Utensils" section.
Electronic range control has a self-diagnostic system.
Self-diagnostic system sounds a series of short, rapid beeps
and shows a "F-code" in display when there is a problem.
When electronic range control signals a problem, follow steps
listed below.
t. Record "F-code" shown.
2. Press OVEN CANCEL pad or disconnect electrical supply.
, Disconnecting electrical supply eliminates
"F-code". If failure continues, contact an authorized
servicer.
Oven light does not work. Check for loose bulb. Check for burned out bulb; replace with
40-watt appliance bulb.
Surface burner flame not uniform Normal appearance see pages 19, 17.
around burner cap.
Surface burner flame color different than
previously owned unit.
Smoke control grill flame goes out.
Surface burners work while oven burners
do not.
Paint on grate is chipping off.
Normal appearance see pages 19, 17.
Shutters out of adjustment see pages 19, 17.
Flame extinguished by ceiling fans, opening and closing of
doors, etc. See page 18 for low flame adjustment.
Valve located on regulator inadvertently cut off during installation.
See page 13. Contact installer.
That burners are not left on for extended periods of time without
cookware see page 27.
