Before a Clean Cycle

Werecommendventingyour kitchenwith an
openwindowor usinga ventilationfan or hood
duringthefirst self-cleancycle.
Removeany broilerpan,broilergrid,probe,all
cookwareandany aluminumfoil from the oven.
NOTE:
Ifyour ovenisequippedwith shiny,
silver-coloredovenracks,removethem
beforeyou beginthe self-cleancycle.
Theshiny,silver-coloredovenracks
(onsomemodels)can be self-cleaned,but
they willdarken,losetheirlusterandbecome
hardto slide.
Ifyour ovenisequippedwith gray
porcelain-coatedovenracks,they may be
left in theovenduringthe self-cleancycle.
Soilon the frontframeofthe rangeandoutside
thegasketonthe door will needto be cleaned
by hand.Cleanthese areaswithhot water,
soap-filledsteel-woolpadsor cleanserssuchas
SoftScrub®.Rinsewellwith cleanwateranddry.
Donot cleanthe gasket.Thefiberglassmaterial
of the ovendoorgasketcannotwithstand
abrasion.It isessentialfor the gasketto remain
intact.Ifyou noticeit becomingworn or frayed,
replaceit.
Makesurethe ovenlight bulbcoveris
inplaceandthe ovenlightis off.
IMPORTANT:Thehealthof somebirdsis
extremelysensitiveto the fumesgivenoff
duringthe self-cleaningcycleof any range.
Movebirdsto anotherwell-ventilatedroom.
DoubleOvenand CanadianModels Only:
Thesurfaceunitsare automaticallydisabled
duringthe self-cleancycle.Makesurethat all
surfaceunitcontrolsare turnedoff at all times
duringthe self-cleancycle.Any surfaceunitthat
issetto an "on"positionwhilethe self-clean
cycleisoperatingwillautomaticallycomeon
afterthe self-cleancycleisfinished,andcould
resultinan "on"unattendedsurfaceunit.Wait
untilthe self-cleancycleisfinishedto set and
usethe surfaceunits.

How to Set the Oven for Cleaning
Theovendoorsmustbeclosedandallcontrolsset
correctlblforthechicleto workproperlbl.
[] Touchthe SELFCLEANpad.
AB-hourself-cleantimeis recommended
for usewhencleaningsmall,contained
spills.Aself-cleantimeof 5hoursis
recommendedfor a dirtieroven.
I--ffl Ifatime otherthan Shoursor Bhoursis
needed,usethe number padsand enter
the desiredcleantime.
Youcanchangethecleantime to any time
between3 hoursand 5hours,dependingon
how dirtyyour ovenis.
r-_ Touchthe STARTpad.
Theupperandlowerovendoorslock
automatically.Thecooktopelementsarealso
lockedout duringself-clean.Thedisplaywill
showthe cleantimeremaining.It willnot be
possibleto openthe ovendoorsor usethe
cooktopuntilthe temperaturedropsbelowthe
locktemperatureandLOCKEDIDOOR_ goes
off inthe controldisplay.
WhenLOCKED/DOOR_ goesoff,you willbe
ableto openthedoors.
Theword LOCKED/DOOR_ willflashand
the worddoor willdisplayif you setthe clean
cycleandforgetto closethe ovendoors.
To stop a clean cycle, touch the CLEAR/OFF
pad.When LOCKED/DOOR_ goes off,
indicating the ovens have cooled below the
locking temperature, you will be able to open
the doors.
DoubleOvens:
Youcanseta cleancyclein both ovens
at the sametime;however,they will not
self-cleanat the sametime.Thelastovenset
will automaticallydelay itsstart untilthe end
of the firstoven'scleancycle.
Whenanovenissetto self-clean,both oven
doorswilllockandthe cooktopcontrolswill
lockout. Theovensandcooktopcannot be
usedwhenanovenissetto self-clean.
