9.1 VCI Bluetooth Pairing
The MaxiVCI Mini needs to be connected to a vehicle, so that it is powered during the
synchronization procedure. Ensure the tablet has sufficient battery power or is
connected to an external power supply.
To pair the MaxiVCI Mini with the tablet
1. Power on the tablet.
2. Insert the 16-pin vehicle data connector of the MaxiVCI Mini to the vehicle data
link connector (DLC).
3. Tap the VCI Manager application on the MaxiCOM Job Menu of the tablet.
4. Select VCI BT from the Connection Mode list on the left column.
5. Toggle the ON/OFF button to ON. Tap the Scan button at the top-right corner.
Now the device starts searching for available pairing units.
6. The device name may display asMaxi- suffixed with a serial number. Select
the appropriate device for pairing.
7. When paring is successfully done, the connection status displayed to the right
of the device name is shown as Connected.
8. Once connected, the BT badge displays at the bottom-right corner of the VCI
Manager shortcut, and the Connection LED on the MaxiVCI Mini illuminates
solid blue, which signifies that the tablet is connected to the MaxiVCI Mini, and
is ready to perform vehicle diagnosis. If you need to disconnect the connected
device, tap it again.
9. Tap the Home button on the top-left to return to the MaxiCOM Job Menu.
NOTE
A MaxiVCI Mini can only be connected to one tablet at a time, and once it’s connected,
the device will not be discoverable to other devices.
9.2 BAS Bluetooth Pairing
The BT506 battery tester device can be connected with the tablet via Bluetooth. Ensure
that the BT506 battery tester is sufficiently charged or is connected to an external power
supply before use.
To pair the Battery Tester with the tablet
1. Power on the diagnostic tablet and the battery tester.
2. Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) battery terminal and the black clamp
to the negative () battery terminal.
3. Tap VCI Manager on the MaxiCOM Job Menu of the tablet.
4. Select BAS BT from the Connection Mode list on the left column.
