Changeoil while engine is stiff warm from running,as
foflows:
1. Drain fuel tank by running pressure washer until fuel
tank is empty.
2. Disconnect spark plug wire and keep it away from spark
plug.
3. Cleanarea around oil fill, remove oil fill cap/dipstick.
Wipe dipstick clean.
4. Tip your pressure washer to drain oil from oil fin into a
suitable container making sure you tip your unit away
from spark plug. When crankcaseis empty, return
pressure washer to upright position.
5. Slowly pour recommended oil (about 18 oz.) into oil fin
opening. Pauseto permit oil to settle. FiNto "Fulr' mark
on dipstick.
6. Wipe dipstick clean each time oil level is checked. DO
NOToverfill.
7. Replaceand tighten dipstick.
8. Wipe up any remaining oil.
9. Reconnectspark plug wire to spark plug.
Service Air Cleaner
Your enginewill not run properly and may be damaged if you
run it with a dirty air cleaner. Service more often if operating
under dirty or dusty conditions. Replacementsare available
at your local Sears service center.
Toservice the air cJeaner,foflow these steps:
1. Remove screw (A).
2. Carefully removeair cleaner assembly to prevent debris
from failing into carburetor.
3. Takeair cleaner assembly apart and clean all parts.
Wash foam air cleaner (13)in liquid detergent and water.
Squeezedry in a clean cloth.
4. SATURATEfoam air cleaner in engine oil and squeezein
a clean cloth to removeexcess oil.
5. Reinstall clean or new foam air cleaner in base (C).
6. install air cleaner securely on carburetor with screw.

Changingthe spark plug win help your engine to start easier
and run better.
1. Cleanareaaround spark plug.
2. Removeand inspect spark plug.
3. Replacespark plug if electrodes are pitted, burned or
porcelain is cracked. Usethe recommended replacement
plug. See Specifications.
4. Checkelectrode gap with wire feeler gauge and reset
spark plug gap to recommended gap if necessary (see
Specifications).

Inspect Muffler and Spark Arrester
Inspectthe muffler for cracks, corrosion, or other damage.
Removethe spark arrester, if equipped, and inspect for
damageor carbon blockage,if replacementparts are required,
makesure to use only original equipment replacementparts.

• DO NOTtouch hot parts and AVOID hot exhaust gases.
• Allow equipment to cool before touching.
• Keep at least 5 feet (f 52 cm) of clearanceon all sides of
pressure washer including overhead.

4442, to use or operate the engine on any forest-covered,
brush-covered, or grass-covered land unlessthe exhaust
system is equipped with a spark arrester, as defined in Section
4442, maintained in effective working order. Other states or
federal jurisdictions may havesimilar laws.
Contact the original equipment manufacturer, retailer, or dealer
to obtain a spark arrester designed for the exhaustsystem
installed on this engine.
• Replacement parts must be the same and installed in the same
position as the original parts.
