SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS ,,
TO REPLACE MOTION DRIVE BELT
(See Fig. 26)
Park the tractor on level surface Engage parking brake°

Remove mc,wer (See "TO REMOVE MOWER': In this
section of this manual.)
BELT REMOVAL -
Engage parking brake (creates slack in belt),
, Remove belt from clutching and lan idler pulleys
,, Remove belt from Iransaxle pulley
Remove belt from engine pulley and front Vqdler
pu!ley,
Pull bett out ot all bett keepers and remove irom fractor_
BELT INSTALLATION -
Place V part of belt into grooves on engine putley and
front V-idler, making sure to route bert insid e of all belt
keepers.
Route bell on righ{ side, coming from Vqdter, towards
back of tractor, above midspan belt keeper and to top
of transaxt e pulley,,
Route bblt on left side coming from engine pulley,
towards back of tractor and through loop in m dspan
belt keeper. [
Place V part of belt into grooves on transaxte and fan
idler pulleys, making sure to.route belt Inside of el! belt
keepers,
Piece belt around cMchfng idlers as shown, making
s_lre Io route bell inside of all belt keepers,
Check fobe sure bett is positioned correctly and is on
proper side of all belt keepers,
., Reinstall mower

The motion control lever has been preset at the factory and
adjustment should not be necessary°
If for any reason the motion contro_ lever wilt not hold its
position while at a selebted speed, it may be adjusted at the
fdction pack located on the right side of chassis.
Park tractor on level surfacm Stop tractor by turning
ignitibn key to "OFF" position and engage parking
brake. "
. Place motion control lever in neutral (N) position.
Whtle holdingtocknul, loosen Iam flut
Tighten !acknut 1/4 furno
While holding locknut, tighten jam nut Securely.
NOTE: I{ for any reason the effort to move the motion
control lever becomes too excessive reverse the above
adjustment procedure by loosening Iocknut 1/4 turn.
Read test iraclor after adjustment and repeat procedure If
necessary

TRANSMISSION REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT
Should your transmlssidn require removal for service or
replacement, itshould be purged after reinsteIlatton before
operating the tractor, See "PURGE TRANSMISSION" in
Operation section of thls manual.
TO ADJUST STEERING WHEEL ALIGNMENT
If steering wheel crossbars are not horizontal (left |o right)
when wheel sare positioned straight forward, re move_steer-
ing whee! and reassemble per instructions In the Assembly
section of'this manual
