Drive Belt
NOTE: Replacethe drivebelt beforereassemblingthe newauger belt.
1.Tip the snowthrowerupand forward sothat it restson theauger
housing.
iMPORTANT:Becausegas couldleakfromthe carburetorwhen
servicingaugerbelt, runthe engine untilthe fueltank is dry, as previ-
ouslyinstructedin ReplacingBelts.
2. Removethe springthatconnectsthe transmissionto abolt on the
engineframe.SeeFigure19.
NOTE: Itmaybeeasierto first removethe flangelocknut,then use
needle-nosedpliersto firmlygrip springand removefrom bolt.

4. Removethe drivebelt fromaroundthe enginepulley,andaway
fromthe unit.
5. Placethe newdrivebelt intothe grooveon the enginepulley.See
Figure18.
6. Tilt the transmissionforwardandpositionthe drive beltontothe
transmissionpulley.
7. Reconnectthe springto thebolt on the engineframe andsecure
thetransmission.Reinstalltheflange locknut.
8. Installnewauger belt.
9. Reassemblethe belt coveron the snowthrower.
10.Reassemblethe belt keeperto the housing.
