ENGINE MAINTENANCE
Checking Engine Oil
Beforelubricating,repairing,or inspecting,disengageall controls
Iandstop engine.Wait untilall movingpartshavecometo a complete
_stop.
NOTE: Checktheoil levelbeforeeachuseandaftereveryfivehours
of operationto be surecorrectoil levelis maintained.
Whenaddingoilto the engine,referto viscositychart below.Engine
oilcapacityis 600ml (approx.20 oz.). Donot over-fill.Usea 4-stroke,
oran equivalenthighdetergent,premiumqualitymotoroilcertified
to meetor exceedU.S.automobilemanufacturer'srequirementsfor
serviceclassificationSG, SR MotoroilsclassifiedSG, SFwill show
thisdesignationon the container.
1. Removethe oil fillercap/dipstickand wipethe dipstickclean.
2. Insertthe cap/dipstickintothe oil filler neck,turnthe cap 1/4turn
untilfullyseated.
NOTE:On someengines,athreadedcap/dipstickmayexist
insteadof a 1/4turn cap as describedabove.In thisinstancedo
not fullytightenthe cap to checkthe oil level.Simplyrestthe cap
onthe threadsto checkfor properoil level.
3. Removethe oil fillercap/dipstick.If levelis low, slowlyadd oiluntil
oil levelregistersbetweenhigh(H) and low (L). See Figure11.
4. Replaceand tighten cap/dipstickfirmlybeforestartingengine.

NOTE:Changethe engineoil afterthefirst 5 hoursof operationand
once a seasonor every50 hoursthereafter.
1. Drainfuel from tank by runningengine untilthefuel tank is empty.
Besurefuel fill capis secure.
2. Placesuitableoil collectioncontainerunderoil drainplug.
3. Removeoil drain plug.See Figure12.
4. Tip engineto drain oil intothe container.Usedoil mustbe
disposedof at a propercollectioncenter
