03 DRYING A LOAD OF LAUNDRY
Using the Smart Grid
If your energy supplier introduces Smart Grid
which means that consumers be provided with
timely information and options for controlling
energy use, the Smart Grid functions below will be
visible and ready to be used.
You can view the current energy use level of your
neighborhood in the Smart Grid State section of
the Smart Grid screen. There are 5 Smart Grid
energy use states or levels from Level 0 to Level 4.
The higher the level, the closer your neighborhood
is to a blackout.
You can also view and change the Override Time. The Override Time is the amount of time that
your Dryer will ignore Smart Grid signals to temporarily curtail energy use and continue to use
a full complement of energy. This lets you override Smart Grid signals to cut energy use if, for
example, you need to dry a load of wash right away.
When the Smart Grid is available for your neighborhood, the Description, Smart Grid State and
Override sections are displayed in the Smart Grid screen.
