Use Guide

Initial Setup

1. Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, and dry surface.
2. Remove the water reservoir by lifting it straight up. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the 52 oz maximum line. Reinsert the reservoir firmly into the back of the unit.
3. Ensure the drip tray is in place. Remove it if using a tall cup or travel mug (up to 6.8" tall).
4. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V electrical outlet.

Brewing with a K-Cup Pod

1. Press the Power button to turn the machine on. The display will illuminate.
2. Lift the brew head handle. Place a K-Cup pod into the pod holder.
3. Close the brew head handle firmly until it clicks into place.
4. Place your cup on the drip tray.
5. Select your desired brew size (6, 8, 10, 12, or 14 oz) using the touchscreen.
6. Press the Bold button if you prefer a stronger brew. The indicator will light up.
7. Press the Brew button. The brewing process will begin and hot water will flow through the pod.
8. When brewing is complete, lift the brew head handle to discard the used pod.

Brewing with Ground Coffee or Tea

1. Press the Power button to turn the machine on.
2. Lift the brew head handle and remove the K-Pod holder.
3. Insert the reusable filter basket into the brew head.
4. Add the desired amount of ground coffee or loose-leaf tea to the filter basket. Do not overfill.
5. Close the brew head handle firmly.
6. Place your cup on the drip tray.
7. Select your brew size and strength (Bold setting).
8. Press the Brew button to start the cycle.
9. After brewing, lift the handle, remove the filter basket, and dispose of the used grounds or tea leaves. Rinse the basket.

Making Iced Coffee

The machine brews hot coffee directly over ice. Follow the standard brewing instructions for a K-Cup or grounds, but place a cup filled with ice on the drip tray before starting the brew cycle. Using the Bold setting is recommended for iced coffee to account for dilution from the ice.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

• Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth.
• Remove and rinse the drip tray and water reservoir with warm water. Dry before reassembling.
• Rinse the reusable filter basket after each use.

Descaling (Mineral Build-up Removal)

Regular descaling is necessary to maintain performance and longevity. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.

1. Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of half white vinegar and half water (or a commercial descaling solution).
2. Place a large cup or container (at least 20 oz) on the drip tray.
3. Press and hold the Descaling button (refer to control panel) for 3 seconds to initiate the descaling mode.
4. The machine will run the solution through the system. Follow the on-screen prompts if applicable.
5. After the cycle is complete, discard the liquid from the cup.
6. Rinse the reservoir thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
7. Run multiple brew cycles (using the largest cup size without a pod) to flush any remaining vinegar or descaling solution from the system until the water runs clear.

Note: The machine is not dishwasher safe.

Troubleshooting

• Machine won't turn on: Check that the power cord is securely plugged into the outlet.
• No water flow / Brew is slow: Ensure the water reservoir is properly seated and filled. The machine may need descaling.
• Coffee is not hot enough: Ensure you are using the correct brew size for your cup. Preheat your cup with hot water. The machine has an instant-heat system but the first brew after power-on may be slightly cooler.
• Leaking water: Check that the K-Cup pod is properly seated and the brew head is closed completely. Ensure the water reservoir is correctly inserted and the drip tray is in place.
• Auto Shut-Off: The machine is designed to turn off automatically 5 minutes after the last brew cycle. This is normal operation to save energy. Press the Power button to turn it back on.
