Overview

The Tastyle Hot & Iced Coffee Maker is a single-serve brewer compatible with K-Cup pods and ground coffee. It features a magnetic K-Pod organizer for storage, a removable 40oz water tank, and offers multiple brewing styles including hot, bold, and iced coffee.

Features and Components

Control Panel and Indicators

• Power Button: Turns the machine on and off.

Use Guide

Initial Setup

1. Remove all packaging materials.
2. Wash the removable water tank, drip tray, capsule holder, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
3. Place the machine on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface.
4. Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water and slide it back into the machine.
5. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V outlet.

Brewing with K-Cup Pods

1. Lift the top cover of the machine.
2. Place a K-Cup pod into the capsule holder. Puncture the bottom of the pod as you insert it.
3. Close the top cover firmly. This will puncture the top of the pod.
4. Place your cup or mug on the drip tray.
5. Press the Power button.
6. Select your desired Brew Size (6, 8, 10, 12, 16, or 24 oz).
7. Select your preferred Brew Style (HOT BREW, BOLD, or OVER ICE).
8. The selected button will flash, and brewing will begin. The light will stop flashing and remain solid when brewing is complete (approx. 2-4 minutes).

Brewing with Ground Coffee

1. Lift the top cover and remove the capsule holder.
2. Insert the reusable filter basket into the brew chamber.
3. Add your preferred amount of ground coffee to the filter basket. Do not overfill.
4. Close the top cover firmly.
5. Place your cup on the drip tray.
6. Press the Power button, select your Brew Size and Brew Style.
7. Brewing will begin. The light will remain solid when complete.

Brewing Iced Coffee

1. Fill your cup with ice.
2. Place the cup on the drip tray.
3. Press the Power button.
4. Select a Brew Size (Suggested: 6-12 oz for iced coffee).
5. Press the OVER ICE button. The machine will brew a more concentrated coffee over the ice.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

• Remove and rinse the water tank, drip tray, capsule holder, and filter basket after use.
• Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
• All small accessories are dishwasher safe (top rack recommended).

Descaling Procedure

Regular descaling extends the machine's lifespan. Perform this monthly or as needed if you have hard water.

1. Ensure there are no coffee grounds or capsules inside the machine.
2. Remove the water tank. Prepare a descaling solution by mixing 0.7oz (20g) of citric acid with 16oz of water. Pour the mixture into the empty water tank.
3. Place the tank back into the machine. Place a large container (at least 24oz) on the drip tray.
4. With the machine off, press and hold the OVER ICE button for 3 seconds to start the descaling cycle.
5. The machine will run the solution through the system. This may take several minutes.
6. Once the cycle is complete, discard the solution from the container.
7. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh, cold water. Run 2-3 full water tanks through the machine (using any brew size) to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.

Safety and Troubleshooting

Safety Features

• Auto Shut-Off: The machine will automatically turn off after 10 minutes of inactivity.
• Water Shortage Reminder: The machine will not operate if the water tank is empty or not correctly installed.
• Dry Boil Protection: Prevents the heating element from operating without water.
• BPA-Free Materials: All parts that contact water or coffee are made from BPA-free materials.
• Top Cover Lock: Brewing will not start if the top cover is not securely closed.

Common Issues

• Machine won't turn on: Check that the power cord is plugged in securely. Ensure the water tank is correctly seated.
• No water flow / Slow brewing: The machine may need descaling. Perform the descaling procedure.
• Coffee is weak or cold: Ensure you are using the correct brew size for your pod or grounds. For stronger coffee, use the BOLD setting.
• Leaking water: Ensure the water tank is correctly inserted and that the top cover is fully closed and locked.
• Light is flashing rapidly: This may indicate an error. Turn the machine off, unplug it for 60 seconds, then restart.
