TROUBLESHOOTING
Below is a list of some of the possible malfunctions.
If the problem cannot be resolved as described, contact Customer Services.
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
The coee is not hot The cups were not preheated. • Enablethecupwarmer,leavethecupsat
least 20 minutes to warm up.
• Warm the cups by rinsing them with hot
water (N.B. you can use the hot water
function).
The infuser has cooled down because
2/3 minutes have elapsed since the last
coee was made.
Before making the coee, warm the infuser by
using the Rinsing function to perform a rinse
cycle (page 10).
Low coee temperature is set. In the menu, set a higher coee temperature.
The coee is thin or not creamy
enough.
The coee is ground too coarsely. Turn the grinding adjustment dial one click an-
ticlockwise towards “1” while the coee mill is
in operation (g. 12).
Continue one click at a time until coee delive-
ry is satisfactory. The eect is only visible after
delivering 2 coees (see the section: “adjusting
the coee mill” on page 12).
The coee is unsuitable. Use pre-ground coee for espresso coee ma-
kers
The coee is delivered too slowly or a
drop at a time.
The coee is ground too nely. Turn the grinding adjustment dial one click
clockwise towards “7” while the coee mill is
in operation (g. 12).
Continue one click at a time until coee delive-
ry is satisfactory. The eect is only visible after
delivering two coees. (see the section “adju-
sting the coee mill” on page 12).
GENERAL ALARM The inside of the appliance is very dirty. Clean the inside of the appliance thoroughly,
as described in the section “Cleaning and
maintenance”. If the message is still displayed
after cleaning, contact a service centre.
EMPTY CIRCUIT FILL CIRCUIT

The water circuit is empty. Press OK to deliver water from the spout (A14)
until it ows out normally.
REPLACE FILTER The water lter is exhausted. Replace the lter or remove it as described in
the section “Water lter”.
SET DIAL TO CLEAN Milk has been delivered recently and the tubes
inside the milk container must be cleaned.
Turn the froth adjustment dial to CLEAN.
INSERT WATER SPOUT The hot water spout is not inserted or is
inserted incorrectly.
Insert the water spout (D3) as far as it will go.
INSERT MILK CONTAINER The milk container is not inserted correctly. Insert the milk container (g. 21) as far as it
will go.
