Eco-driving
Optimise the use of your
gearbox
Withamanualgearbox,moveoff
gentlyandchangeupwithoutwaiting.
Duringaccelerationchangeupearly.
Withanautomaticorelectronic
gearbox,givepreferencetoautomatic
modeandavoidpressingthe
acceleratorpedalheavilyorsuddenly.
The gear shift indicator invites you
toengagethemostsuitablegear:as
soon as the indication is displayed in
theinstrumentpanel,followitstraight
away.
Forvehiclesttedwithanelectronic
orautomaticgearbox,thisindicator
appearsonlyinmanualmode.
Drive smoothly
Maintain a safe distance between
vehicles,useenginebrakingrather
thanthebrakepedal,andpressthe
acceleratorprogressively.These
practices contribute towards a
reductioninfuelconsumptionandCO
2
emissionsandalsohelptoreducethe
backgroundtrafcnoise.
Ifyourvehiclehascruisecontrol,make
useofthesystematspeedsabove
25mph(40km/h)whenthetrafcis
owingwell.
Control the use of your
electrical equipment
Switchoffthedemistingand
defrostingcontrols,ifnotautomatic.
Switch off the heated seat as soon as
possible.
Switchofftheheadlampsandfront
foglampswhentheleveloflightdoes
notrequiretheiruse.
Avoid running the engine before
movingoff,particularlyinwinter;your
vehiclewillwarmupmuchfaster
whiledriving.
As a passenger, if you avoid
connectingyourmultimediadevices
(lm,music,videogame...),you
willcontributetowardslimitingthe
consumptionofelectricalenergy,and
sooffuel.
Disconnect your portable devices
beforeleavingthevehicle.
Beforemovingoff,ifthepassenger
compartmentistoowarm,ventilateit
by opening the windows and air vents
beforeusingtheairconditioning.
Above30mph(50km/h),closethe
windowsandleavetheairventsopen.
Remembertomakeuseofequipment
thatcanhelpkeepthetemperature
inthepassengercompartmentdown
(sunroofandwindowblinds...).
Switch off the air conditioning, unless
ithasautomaticregulation,assoonas
thedesiredtemperatureisattained.
