7 Troubleshooting
Problem Cause/Result Action
Grinder is making a very
loud noise.
There are foreign objects
in the grinder.
T Contact Customer Support in your
country (see ‘JURA contact details /
Legal information’).
The frother does not
produce enough milk foam
or milk sprays from the
cappuccino frother.
The cappuccino frother
is dirty or incorrectly
attached.
T Rinse and clean the cappuccino
frother (see Chapter 5, ‘Maintenance –
Cappuccino frother‘).
T Assemble the cappuccino frother
correctly and firmly attach the frother
to the Connector System

bling and rinsing the frother’).
Coffee only comes out
in drips when it is being
prepared.
Coffee or pre-ground
coffee has been ground
too finely and is blocking
the system.
T Put the grinder on a coarser setting
or use coarser pre-ground coffee (refer
to Chapter 1, ‘Preparing and using for
the first time – Adjusting grinder’).
Water hardness cannot
be adjusted.
The CLARIS filter
cartridge is activated.
T Deactivate the CLARIS filter cartridge
in programming mode.
COFFEE READY /
FILL BEANS
is displayed although
the bean container has
been filled.
The grinder is not yet
completely filled with
beans.
T Prepare a coffee speciality.
COFFEE READY /
FILL BEANS is not
displayed although the
bean container is empty.
The bean monitor is
dirty.
T Clean the bean container
(see Chapter 5, ‘Maintenance –
Cleaning the bean container’).
EMPTY TRAY
is always displayed.
The metal contacts of the
drip tray are dirty or wet.
T Clean and dry the metal contacts
on the back of the drip tray.
FILL WATER TANK
is displayed although
the water tank is full.
The water tank float is
trapped.
T Descale the water tank (see
Chapter 5, ‘Maintenance –
Descaling the water tank’).
