12 Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor Welch Allyn
Measuring procedure
After the cuff has been positioned appropriately, the
measurement can begin.
1. Set the pressure pre-selection.
2. Press the Start/Stop button. The pump
begins to inflate the cuff. The rising
pressure in the cuff is shown on the
display.
3. After the suitable inflation pressure has
been reached, the pump stops and the
pressure gradually falls. The cuff
pressures are displayed.
4. When the instrument detects a pulse,
the heart symbol in the display starts to
flash and a beep sounds for every heart
beat.
5. A longer beep is sounded when the
measurement has been completed. The
systolic, diastolic blood pressures, and
pulse rate now appear in the display.
6. The results of the measurement remain
on the display until you turn off the
instrument. If no button is pressed for a
period of five minutes, the instrument
turns itself off to preserve the batteries.
