Taking Care of the Unexpected
Taking Care of the Unexpected
If you are unable to repair a flat tire on the trail,
you will need to push the motorcycle back to
your base or send for help. We strongly
recommend that you do not try to ride with a
flat tire. The motorcycle will be hard to handle,
and if the tire comes off the rim, it may lock up
the wheel and cause you to crash.
All of the electrical circuits on your motorcycle
have a fuse to protect them from damage
caused by excess current flow (short circuit or
overload).
If something electrical on your motorcycle
stops working, the first thing you should check
for is a blown fuse.
Check the fuse before looking elsewhere for
another possible cause of the problem. Replace
the blown fuse and check component operation.
Riding your motorcycle with a
temporary tire repair can be risky.
If the temporary repair fails, you can
crash and be seriously injured or killed.
If you must ride with a temporary tire
repair, ride slowly and carefully until the
tire is permanently repaired or
replaced.
