Engine Oil & Filter
4.
Reinstall the oil filter cover, making sure the bolts are tightened
to the specified torque:
9 lbf·ft (12 N·m , 1.2 kgf·m)
5.
Pour the drained oil into a suitable container and dispose of it in
an approved manner (page 168).
NOTICE
Improper disposal of drained fluids is harmful to the environment.
Add Engine Oil:
1.
Reinstall the drain bolts with new sealing washers and tighten
them to the specified torque:
Oil tank drain bolt:
14 lbf·ft (20 N·m , 2.0 kgf·m)
Crankcase drain bolt:
18 lbf·ft (25 N·m , 2.5 kgf·m)
2.
Fill the oil tank with the recommended grade oil approximately:
1.8 US qt (1.7 ℓ)
3.
Reinstall the oil fill cap/dipstick.
4.
Reinstall the engine guard.
5.
Start the engine and let it idle for 3 – 5 minutes.
6.
Stop the engine and after 2 – 3 minutes, check the oil level. Make
sure the oil is between the UPPER and LOWER level marks on the
oil fill cap/dipstick. If necessary, add more oil but do not overfill.
7.
Reinstall the oil fill cap/dipstick.
8.
Check for oil leaks.
If a torque wrench is not used for installation, see your dealer as
soon as possible to verify proper assembly.
