Managing Notifications
Notification icons report the
arrival of new messages,
calendar events, alarms, as
well as ongoing events, such as
when you are in a call.
When you receive a notification,
text appears briefly and the
notification icon will be displayed
in the Status bar.
To open the Notifications panel
Touch and drag the Status bar to
the bottom of the screen.
OR
From the Home screen, press
the
Menu Key
and
touch Notifications.
The Notifications panel
displays your wireless
provider and a list of
your current notifications,
organized into ongoing and
event-based notifications.
Touch a notification
to open it in its
application.
Searching Your Phone and
the Web
You can search for information
on your phone and on the web
by using the Quick Search Box
or Google search.
Some applications, such as
Contacts, Gmail, and Maps,
have the ability to search
contents within those specific
applications.
Along with being able to search
by typing in search terms, you
are also able to search by voice.
NOTE:
Using the Voice Search
application, you can also use
Voice Commands, such as voice
dialing, as described in “Dialing by
Voice”on page 77.
