INSTALLING YOUR APPLIANCE
Front Grille
Do not obstruct the front grill. The openings within the front
grill allow air to ow through the condenser heat exchanger.
Restrictions to this air ow will result in increased energy
usage and loss of cooling capacity. For this reason it is im-
portant this area to not be obstructed and the grill openings
kept clean. Marvel does not recommend the use of custom
made grills as air ow may be restricted because of inad-
equate openings.
Select Location
The proper location will ensure peak performance of your
appliance. We recommend a location where the unit will
be out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. To
ensure your product performs to specications the recom-
mended installation location temperature range is from 50
to 100°F (10 to 38°C).
Cabinet Clearance
Ventilation is required from the bottom front section of the
unit. Keep this area open and clear of any obstructions.
Adjacent cabinets and counter top can be installed around
the unit as long as the grille and door access remain unob-
structed.
!
CAUTION
!

If the unit was shipped or has been laying on its back for
any period of time allow the appliance to sit upright for a
period of at least 24 hours before plugging in. This will as-
sure oil returns to the compressor. Plugging the appliance
in immediately may cause damage to internal parts.
Electrical Shock Hazard
Electrical Grounding Required. Never attempt to
repair or perform maintenance on the unit until the
electricity has been disconnected.
Never remove the round grounding prong from the
plug and never use a two-prong grounding adapter.
Altering, cutting or removing power cord, removing
power plug, or direct wiring can cause serious
injury, re, loss of property and/or life, and will void
the warranty.
Never use an extension cord to connect power to
the unit.
Always keep your working area dry.
!
WARNING
Electrical Requirements
The unit requires a grounded and polarized 115 VAC,
60 Hz, 15A power supply (normal household current).
An individual, properly grounded branch circuit or circuit
breaker is recommended. A GFCI (ground fault circuit
interrupter) is usually not required for xed location
appliances and is not recommended for your unit because
it could be prone to nuisance tripping. However, be sure to
consult your local codes.
See CUTOUT & PRODUCT DIMENSIONS for
recommended receptacle location.
NOTE
Electrical installation must observe all state and local
codes. This unit requires connection to a grounded (three-
prong), polarized receptacle that has been placed by a
qualied electrician.
