Thismodemustbeusedwheninstallingachild
seatonthefrontpassengerseatandrearseats
whereduallockingretractorsareprovided.To
switchtheretractorfromtheemergencylocking
modetotheautomaticlockingmode,performthe
followingsteps:
1. Bucklethelap/shouldercombinationbelt.
2. Grasptheshoulderportionofthebeltandpull
downwarduntilallofthebeltisextractedand
aclickisheard.Atthistime,theretractorisin
theautomaticlockingmode(childrestraint
mode).
3. Aclickingsoundwillcontinuetobeheardas
thebeltisallowedtoretract.
NOTE:Whenthecombinationlap/shoulderbeltis
unbuckledandallowedtoretractcompletely,the
retractorwillswitchtothevehiclesensitive
(emergency)lockingmode.Seethedetailed
instructionsunderSafetySeatsforChildrenin
thischapter.
LapBelts
Thelapbeltinthecenterofthefrontseatdoesnot
adjustautomatically.Youmustadjustittofitsnugly
andaslowaspossiblearoundyourhips.Donot
wearitaroundyourwaist.
