TPMS Sensor Installation Guide

Pre-Installation Inspection, Removal & Matching Precautions

1. Sensor Pre-Installation Inspection Process(How to Verify Sensor

Functionality)

Use a handheld TPMS diagnostic tool. Select the vehicle year for

the model you are installing.

Read Sensor

Information

Select the "Read Sensor Information" option from the menu.

Sensor ID

Displayed

You will hear a beep, and the sensor ID number will appear on the

screen. (Each sensor has a unique ID. If the ID is successfully read,

it means the sensor is working properly.) Repeat this process for

all 4 sensors, reading them in order by position.

Ifalltheabovestepsarecompletedsuccessfullyandallsensorsarereadingcorrectly,thesensorsthemselvesare

workingfine–theissueislikelywiththevehicle'srelearnprocedure.Inthatcase,tryinflatingthetirestothe

recommendedpressurelistedonthetireplacard,thendeflateandobservewhetherthesystemdetectsthe

pressurechangeortriggersawarning.

2.TPMSSensorRemoval&InstallationProcess

S te p 1 – D e f l a te t h e t i r e :

Remove the valve cap and let the air out of the tire completely.

S te p 2 – R e mo v e th e t i r e a n d o l d s en s o r:

Use a professional tire mounting/dismounting machine to separate the tire

from the wheel rim.

C RI T I C AL :

Position the sensor 180° opposite from the tire machine's

working arm (bead breaker). This prevents damage to the sensor during tire

removal.

After the tire is removed from the rim, use a suitable tool to detach the old

sensor from the wheel.

IMPORTANT: In some cases, the tire may need to be completely removed from

the rim. Do NOT pry the tire off directly over the TPMS sensor area, as this

may damage the sensor or the wheel. If the sensor has a rubber valve stem,

be sure to use a valve stem puller tool for removal – do not cut or tear it off.

AfterremovingtheOLDsensors,do NOTleavethemnearthevehicleduringthematching/relearnprocess.Place

theoldsensorsatleast20meters(about65feet)away,orideally destroythem.Otherwise,theoldsensorsmay

interferewiththematchingprocessandcausefailures.

Ifthevehiclehasanyaftermarketelectronicdevicesinstalled(suchassatellitephones,dashcameras,radar

detectors,orotherelectromagnetic-emittingdevices), turnthemoffordisconnectpowerbeforeperformingsensor

matching.Electromagneticinterferencecandisruptsensorsignaltransmissionandcausematchingfailures.
