WARNING! Ensure you have read and understand Section 1 Safety Instructions.
4.1. Comprehensive planning for all operations is essential.
4.2. Connect the output hose from the hydraulic pump to the manifold. Ensure the hose is secure but DO NOT overtighten.
8 DO NOT commence operation of hydraulic pump until the rams are located within the brake disc assembly (g.2)
4.3. Open the inlet valves of the rams using the handwheel controls. It is possible to open / close each ram inlet individually if a measure of
racking of the assembly is deemed necessary in order to ease separation of the disc assembly.
4.4. Release pump pressure once separation is achieved before undoing any couplings.
5. MAINTENANCE.
IMPORTANT: Only competent personnel should attempt maintenance or repair to the hydraulic system.
WARNING: DO NOT use brake fluid, or any fluid other than hydraulic jack fluid, as this may cause serious damage to the pump/ram and
will invalidate the warranty! Use only Sealey hydraulic oil.
5.1. Before each use check for damage to ram, pump, hose and accessories. If any suspect item is found remove from service and take
necessary action to remedy the problem. Replace/repair with genuine parts only. Unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will
invalidate the warranty.
5.2. Keep all parts clean - use only a mild detergent and a damp cloth. DO NOT use solvents.
Note: A small amount of oil around ram seal is normal - a thicker layer of oil may be deposited onto the ram initially, due to the ram seals
bedding in.
Hydraulic couplings will weep a small amount of oil, particularly if the ram is under pressure when the coupling is released - this is normal.
IMPORTANT: NO RESPONSIBILITY IS ACCEPTED FOR INCORRECT USE OF THE RAM.
5.3. DE-COMMISSIONING HYDRAULIC EQUIPMENT: Should the rams become completely unserviceable, draw off the oil into an
approved container and dispose of the product and the oil according to local regulations.
