Connecting to a PC
1. Turn the printer on.
2. Insert the Brady Printer Drivers CD into the CD drive of your computer.
3. Follow the prompts on the screen for installation of a particular driver.
1. In Windows XP, click Start, then choose Settings>Printers and Faxes. OR In Windows 7, click Start, then choose Devices & Printers. OR In Windows 8, using the Search feature in the Charms bar, search for Devices and Printers.
2. In the list of available printers, right click BMP41 and choose Printing Preferences.
3. Click button.
4. On the Advanced Options screen, click Properties button for Custom Settings.
5. On the Custom Settings screen, click the down arrow in Cutter Option field and select if you want to pause the printer for cutting at the end of each label or at the end of the job.
6. Click OK to accept the changes. (You may have to click OK a number of times as you back out of the Printing Preferences screens.)

Go To An Area
1. Press Area .
2. Choose GoTo, then enter the number of the label or area to go to.
Delete Area
1. Navigate to the area you want to delete.
3. Choose Delete.
Justification
1. Navigate to the label or area where justification is to be applied.
2. To apply justification to a label, press Label Settings .
3. Choose H. Justify or V. Justify.
4. Choose the horizontal or vertical justification desired.
Rotate
1. Navigate to the label or area where rotation will take affect.
2. To set rotation for the label, press Label Settings .
3. Choose Rotate>degree of rotation.

Frame
1. To add a frame to a label, press Label Settings .
2. Choose Frame>frame type.
1. Navigate to the label or area that contains the Frame.

1. Position the cursor on the label where you want the serialization to display.
3. With the cursor immediately displayed in the Start Value field of Sequence #1, enter the start value of the sequence.
4. In the End Value field, enter the end value of the sequence.
5. In the Increment field, enter the increment value.
7. Complete Steps 1 through 6 above.
8. On the Editing screen, navigate to the next sequence location (cursor position) on the label.
9. Press Serial .
11. In the Sequence #2 Start Value field, enter the start value for that sequence.
12. In the Sequence #2 End Value field, enter the end value for that sequence.
13. In the Sequence #2 Increment field, enter the increment for that sequence.

Cancel a Print Job

Accessing a Label Type
1. Press Label Type .

4. Enter data requested in the dialog box.
General Label Type
1. Press Label Type .

1. Press Label Type .
2. For continuous media, choose WireMarker>wiremarker size.
4. Enter the wiremarker data.
Terminal Block, Patch Panel, 66 Block
1. Press Label Type .
2. Navigate to the desired label type and press Enter .
4. Navigate to the Separator field and, from the drop down list, select the separator to use.
5. Navigate to the Orientation field and, from the drop down list, select the desired layout.
6. Navigate to the Terminal Repeat field and indicate the size of the gap between each terminal (with a minimum of 0.2 inches).
7. In the Number of Terminals field, enter the number of terminals on the block for which the label is intended.
9. Complete the Serialization values. (See “Add Serialization” on page 66 for more information.)
Flags
1. Press Label Type .
2. Choose Flags and press Enter .
3. Navigate to the radio button of the desired layout and press Enter .
4. If continuous media is installed, navigate to the Flag Length field and enter the length of the flag (the part that contains the text).
5. Navigate to the Cable Diameter field and enter the diameter of the wire/cable to which the flag will be applied.
110-Block, Bix Block Label Type
1. Press Label Type .
2. Navigate to 110-Block or Bix block and press Enter .
3. In the Block Type field, from the drop down list, choose the pair configuration to use.
4. In the Sequence Type field, from the drop down list, select the Sequence Type to use.
5. In the Start Value field (except when “None” is selected in the Sequence Type field), enter the first number of the sequence.
6. In the # of Strips field, enter the number of strips (labels) to be created in the block configuration chosen.
DesiStrip
1. Press Label Type .
2. Navigate to DesiStrip and press Enter .
3. In the Length field, press Backspace to clear the default length.
4. Enter the new length of the individual strip.
5. Navigate to and press Enter .
Troubleshooting
3. Reprint the label(s).
Cleaning the Printer
1. Lightly moisten a soft (non-scratching) cloth with isopropyl alcohol. OR Use pre-moistened static-free cloths available with the Brady PCK-6 Cleaning Kit.
2. Gently wipe the display screen until clean.
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Open the printer cover and remove any cartridge currently in the printer.
3. Using a lint-free swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol (or a swab from the Brady PCK- 6 Cleaning Kit), gently swab the print head.
4. With the same moistened swab, gently brush the platen roller.

1. Disassemble printer and locate the lithium cell battery located on the main circuit board.
2. To remove, push down on the center tab of the battery retainer, remove the battery from the board, and dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
1. Turn the printer over, open the battery compartment door, and remove the NiMH battery.
2. Release the battery from the printer and dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
