6.8 Example 8: Using Slope Trigger to Capture Particular
Slope Signal
In many occasions, we are not only concerned about the edge of the signal, but also want to know
the rise and fall times of the signal. To better observe this kind of signals, we bring in the slope
trigger. Follow the steps below.
1. Push the TRIG MENU button to see the Trigger menu.
2. Select Slope for the Type option.
3. Push the Source option button to select CH1; push the Slope option button to select Rising;
push the Mode option button to select Auto; push the Coupling option button to select DC.
4. Click the ‘Next Page’ button and select Vertical. Adjust V1 and V2 to proper locations. Select
the When option button and set it to ‘=’.
5. Select ‘Time’ and adjust the time until you get a stable display of waveforms. See the figure
below.
