Rinnai Tankless Water Heater Installation and Operation Manual 20
4.3.3 Internal (Indoor) Water
Heaters
Install the water heater as far away as
possible from any air inlet vents. Corro-
sive fumes, sometimes found in hair/ nail
salons, spas, or other industries exposed
to toxic fumes, may be released through
these vents when not in operation. Chemi-

be stored or used near the water heater or
vent termination. This requirement applies
to internal (indoor) and external (outdoor)

In coastal regions, the water heater should

salty spray or breeze can cause corrosion
of the water heater.

where combustion air might be contami-
nated with chemicals.
DO NOT use room air in applications
where the indoor air is corrosive. Install
