12 Transportation, stor-
age and disposal
12.1 Activating frost protec-
tion
Protect your appliance from frost dur-
ing transport and storage.
ATTENTION!
Residues of liquid in the appliance
may damage it during transport or
storage.
▶ Empty the pipe system before
transport or storage.
Requirements
¡ The appliance is ready to use.
¡ The water tank has been filled.
1. Place a large container under the
outlet system and push the milk
frother down.
2. Press and hold the button for
at least 5 seconds.
a The LED in the button flashes, and
the appliance heats up.
3. When steam escapes from the
milk frother, remove the water
tank.
4. Let the steam out of the appliance
and wait until the LED flashes
and all of the beverage LEDs flash.
5. Use to switch the appliance off.
6. Empty the water tank and the drip
tray and thoroughly clean the ap-
pliance.
7. Disconnect the appliance from the
mains power supply.
You can now transport or store the
appliance.
Note:The brewing unit is now se-
cured and you cannot remove it.
12.2 Disposing of old appli-
ance
Valuable raw materials can be re-
used by recycling.
1. Unplug the appliance from the
mains.
2. Cut through the power cord.
3. Dispose of the appliance in an en-
vironmentally friendly manner.
Information about current disposal
methods are available from your
specialist dealer or local authority.
This appliance is la-
belled in accordance
with European Directive
2012/19/EU concerning
used electrical and elec-
tronic appliances (waste
electrical and electronic
equipment - WEEE).
The guideline determ-
ines the framework for
the return and recycling
of used appliances as
applicable throughout
the EU.
13 Customer Service
Function-relevant genuine spare parts
according to the corresponding Eco-
design Order can be obtained from
Customer Service for a period of at
least 7 years from the date on which
your appliance was placed on the
market within the European Eco-
nomic Area.
Note:Under the terms of the manu-
facturer's warranty the use of Cus-
tomer Service is free of charge.
