5.2.6.2. Recording Chorded Arpeggios
Arpeggios and the Chord feature are a wonderful match. You can record chorded arpeggios
in real time in a sequence on the same track! Here's how to do it:
Select a track (2,3 or 4) and set it to arpeggio mode
Select an empty pattern in this track
Set Mode to Poly ('Shift'+ Poly)
Deselect Overdub so it is off
Press 'Shift' and Tie/Rest (Chord) and hold a chord on the keyboard. Let go of
'Shift' and Tie/Rest and check whether the chord has been registered by playing
keys on the keyboard
Start the Arpeggiator (press Play).
: The Arpeggiator will also arpeggiate without pressing 'Play', but if you want to record an arpeggio
in the sequencer, the Arpeggiator must advance through the steps.
Press record, hold down a chord to start a chorded arpeggio
You'll see steps lighting up: each time the Arpeggiator advances, the current state of the
Arpeggiator is recorded in a step.
Press Record to exit Recording mode
You can now edit the chorded arpeggio with some of the options you normally have in
sequencer mode. This is limited to Nudge>, Nudge< and Invert.
Press Seq on the same track to activate the sequencer and record the arpeggio
in the sequencer.
Press Play to play the old arpeggio which has now become a sequence.
All 'Shift' edit options are available to further edit the sequence.
