10.6.5. CV/Gate Specifications
Some analog synthesizers have unusual implementations that are not fully compatible with
the KeyStep Pro CV/Gate signals. Please refer to their manufacturer's specifications before
making a purchase so that you can be sure the two devices will work together well.
We've designed the KeyStep Pro to be as flexible as possible: the
MIDI Control Center [p.155]
allows you to configure the CV/Gate Voice output jacks in a number of ways. You can also
change these settings in the Utility menu (Utility>CV>Voice).
These are the electrical signals that can be sent by the KeyStep Pro CV/Gate Voice output
jacks:
Control Voltage (Pitch) has two options:
1 Volt/Octave (0-10V) (Standard Eurorack format)
0 Volt MIDI note range: 0-127 (Volt/octave)
1. 2 Volt/Octave (0-10V) (Buchla Format)
0 Volt MIDI note range: 0-127 (Volt/octave)
Hertz per Volt
1 Volt MIDI note range: 0-127 (Hz/Volt)
Gate output has two options:
V-trigger (positive or 'voltage'), trigger voltage is between 10 V and 12
V
V-trigger (positive or 'voltage'), trigger voltage is between 4 V and 5 V
S-trigger (negative, or short)
In addition, you can set Modulation Type, Modulation Range and Pitch Bend range. For an
overview of these settings, please refer to
Chapter 9 [p.145]
The MIDI Control Center [p.155] and the Utility menu allow each of these settings to be
configured independently for each of the four voices.
