1. Push in the control knob and turn it clockwise to OFF
position (Fig. 4).
2. Release the control knob and turn it further clockwise to
LOCK OFF position (Fig. 4).

3. Remove the griddle from the appliance.
4. Place the appliance upside down on a stable and level
surface in a well-ventilated area.
5. Connect an LP gas cylinder to the cylinder valve outlet of the
gas regulator.
6. Mix a solution of one part of water with one part of liquid
soap in a clean bowl (not included) (Fig. 5) with a paint
brush (not included).

7. Use the paint brush to apply the solution onto the
connection between the cylinder valve outlet and the LP gas
cylinder (Fig. 6).

8. Visually inspect for streams of bubbles coming from the
connection point. This indicates that there is gas escaping.
» If no gas bubbles appear at any connections, the connections
are secure.
» If a leak appears, repeat connecting the LP gas cylinder to
the cylinder valve outlet of the gas regulator. Perform a gas
leak test after reconnection to ensure a secure and leak-free
connection.
» If a leak continues to appear after reconnection, do not use
the appliance. Have the LP gas cylinder checked immediately
by a liquid propane supplier.
9. Wipe the LP gas cylinder and the cylinder valve outlet of the
gas regulator dry with a soft cloth.
7. Operation
WARNING
Risk of re!
» Always use the appliance on a stable, level and heat-
resistant surface away from combustibles. Do not use this
appliance on a wooden or ammable surfaces. If using
this appliance on a wooden deck, or other surface that
is not heat-resistant, use heat-resistant material such as
concrete pavers, brick or stone between the appliance and
the surface.
» If an oil/grease re occurs, keep away from the appliance
and immediately call your re department. Do not
attempt to smother the re or extinguish the re with
water.

» Only use the appliance when it is completely assembled,
with all parts securely fastened and tightened.
» Always inspect the appliance for gas leaks, burner
obstructions and for any abrasion or wear.
» Keep the appliance away from high wind areas but keep it
in a well-ventilated area.
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
The appliance becomes very hot while in use.
Use heat-resistant gloves, long-handled tongs
or insulated mitts at all times.
NOTICE
When the appliance is not in use, set the control
knob to LOCK OFF position (Fig. 4) to prevent it from being
accidentally pushed in and turned. Set the control knob
counter-clockwise to OFF position before it can be used.
7.1 Checklist before lighting
1. Read the instruction manual to understand correct operation
and precautions.
2. Check that all components are properly assembled, intact
and operable.
3. Visually inspect the appliance for any signs of blockage
(debris, insects) on the burner tube or in the burner
portholes.
4. A suitable LP gas cylinder is used (refer to chapter Picking a
suitable LP gas cylinder).
5. Make sure that the top of the LP gas cylinder is clear of
debris. Be sure any parts removed during assembly or
servicing is replaced and fastened prior to starting.
6. No alterations have been made to the appliance.
7. LP gas cylinder is connected correctly (refer to chapter
Connecting an LP gas cylinder).
8. Connections of the appliance and the LP gas cylinder
checked for gas leaks (refer to chapter Gas Leak Test).
9. Location of the appliance is suitable (refer to chapter
Choosing a suitable location).
