Fuel Filter
Thefuelfilter cannotbecleanedandmustbereplacedonceayearor every100
operatinghours;moreoften if runwith oldgasoline.
1. Removeall fuel fromtankbyrunningengineuntil it stopsfrom lackof fuel.
2. Removehoseclampfromfuel lineandremovefuel linefromtank outlet.See
Figure22.
3. Pullout oldfuel filter fromtankoutlet. Replacewhendirtyordamaged.
4. Graspnewfuelfilter fromshoulderedendandinsertit completelyto the
shoulderintothetankoutlet.
5. Replacefuel lineandhoseclamp.
Clean Engine
Dailyor beforeeveryuse,cleangrass,chafforaccumulateddebrisfrom
engine.Keeplinkage,spring,andcontrolsdean.Keepareaaroundand
behindmufflerfreeof anycombustibledebris.
Keepingenginecleanallowsair movementaroundengine.
Enginepartsshouldbekeptdeanto reducetheriskofoverheatingand
ignitionofaccumulateddebris.
Donotusewater to dean engine parts. Watercould contaminatefuel
system.Usea brushor dry cloth.
LUBRICATION
BladeControl
Lubricatepivot pointsonthebladeanddrivecontrolat leastonceaseasonwith
light oil.Thesecontrolsmustoperatefreelyin bothdirections.SeeFigure23.
