UsingYourLawnMower
Besurelawnisclearof stones,sticks,wire, or otherobjectswhichcoulddamage
lawnmowerorengine.Suchobjectscouldbeacddentlythrownbythe mowerin
anydirectionandcauseseriouspersonalinjury tothe operatorandothers.
Oncetheengineisrunningandwhilecontinuingto holdthe bladeanddrive
controlstogether,pushthedrivecontrolforwardto propelmower.Thefarther
thecontrolis pushedforward,thefasterthemowerwill propel.Oncepressureis
releasedfromthecontrolit will returnto theneutralpositionandthedrivewill be
disengaged.Referto Figure15.
NOTE:Foreaseof use,whilegrippingthecontrols,simplylockyourwrist and
elbowsandwalk- theunit will automaticallyadjustto yourspeed.
Theoperationof any lawn mowercan resultinforeign objects being
thrown intothe eyes,which candamageyour eyesseverely.Always
wearsafety glasseswhile operating the mower,orwhile performingany
adjustmentsor repairson it.
UsingasMulcher
Formulchinggrass,removethegrasscatcherorsidedischargechutefrom the
mower.Whenyouremovethegrasscatcherfromthemower,the reardischarge
doorwill close.Whenyou removethe sidedischargechute,themulchingcoverwill
close.Foreffectivemulching,donotcutwet grass.Ifthegrasshasbeenallowedto
growinexcessof fourinches,mulchingis notrecommended.Usethegrasscatcher
to bagclippingsinstead.

UsingGrassCatcher
Youcanusethegrasscatchertocollectclippingswhileyouareoperatingthe
mower.
1. Attachgrasscatcherfollowinginstructionsinthe"Assembly"section.Grass
clippingswill automaticallycollectinbagasyourun mower.Operatemower
until grassbagisfull.
2. Stopenginecompletelybyreleasingthe bladecontrol.Makesurethat the
unit hascometo acompletestop.
3. Liftdischargedoorandpullgrassbagupandawayfrom themowerto
removethebag.Disposeofthe grassclippingsandreinstallthebagwhen
complete.
NOTE:Makesureto cleananyexcessgrassfrom aroundtherearopeningof
themower,especiallybetweenthetransmissioncoverandsidewallon the
left handsideandalongthebottom,to ensuretight fit of bagontomower.
If you strike a foreign object, stop theengine. Disconnectthe sparkplug
wire, thoroughly inspectmower for any damage,andrepairdamage
before restartingandoperating. Extensivevibrationof mowerduring
operationis anindication of damage.Theunit should bepromptly
inspectedandrepaired.
