Beforetipping the unit to drain the oil, the fuel tank mustbeempty or fuel
can leakout andresult in a fire or explosion.Toempty the fuel tank, run
the engine until it stopsfrom lackof fuel.
IMPORTAN#Besureto checkengineon alevelsurfacewith theenginestopped.
Draintheoilwhiletheengineisstill warmtoassurerapidandcompletedraining.
1. Withengineoff butstill warm,disconnectthe sparkplugwire andkeepit
awayfromthesparkplug.
2. Placeasuitablecontainernextto theengineto catchtheusedoil.
3. Removethe drainpluganddraintheoil intothecontainerbytippingthe
enginetowardtheoil fill/dipstick.SeeFigure18.
Usedoil is a hazardouswaste product. Disposeof usedoil properly. Donot
discardwith householdwaste.Checkwith your localauthorities or Sears
ServiceCenterfor safedisposal/recyclingfacilities.
4. Reinstallthedrainplugandtighten it securely.
5. Refillwith therecommendedoil andchecktheoil level. Referto the
OperationSection.
